Hard to Beat for the Money!
So there I was, sitting in my "new" Sun Tracker boat (new to me, anyway) and I discover the nice little console mounted Sony radio/CD player was dead. It powered up, but didn't display right or play. So I set about searching for a replacement. That's when I came across this little jewel. It was the right DIN size, compact in depth, plenty of stereo 4-channel power, and came with all the features I wanted - FM tuner, Bluetooth capability, AUX front input, and a handy USB jack. And it DIDN'T come with things I don't need - AM tuner, multiple layers of FM channels to program, and CD player. But the really cool part - $25!! Seriously! How can they make this and sell it for $25!?!? I had the old unit out and this new one installed in about 30min. Granted, a boat console is considerably easier to get into than a car dash, but this baby popped in, fired right up, and we had some nice music on our first lake trip. It sounds great. I've had car stereos that cost 10x this price that didn't sound any better. Technology has done some amazing things! This is a no frills bargain for a basic car/boat/RV stereo.

Buttons stopped working after a couple months.
So I bought this to not have to use my FM transmitter anymore to stream music to my car speakers because my CD player kept interrupting it despite not having a CD in it.Bluetooth is great for that! The Bluetooth works fine. Sound seems fine to me, but I am not an audiophile. However, on my unit, the "repeat" and "random" functions have some.. issues.I decided I wanted to use a SD card or USB drive to stream my music, so I wouldn't have to switch the unit to BT every time I start the car. (It does not stay on BT, it starts on FM, but it does automatically connect once the BT is turned back on.)It WILL automatically read a card or drive that is plugged in without the user having to do anything, so that is a plus! Don't have to mess with it when I start the car to get it to play! But.It won't play files in folders. And the "repeat" function does nothing. And the "random" function finishes out the song that is playing, then takes you back to whatever track on the storage device that the unit decided is track #1, and repeats it. Just the first track.(And what I mean by, whatever it decided was the first track? It picked a song that started with E. Then it somehow ended up in 4 or 5 "S" songs alphabetically. And then??? I was frustrated by this point. It wasn't ordering them based on anything that made sense, but it was ordering them somehow because regardless of how much I wanted it to randomize, it refused.)It also arrived with a scratch on the face, which I requested (and received) a partial refund for.I'm not thrilled. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're just looking to use the FM and Bluetooth, or if you don't care that your tracks will play in the same order forever (or at least until you manually re-order them somehow or replace them, which would drive me NUTS).Since I already installed it, and I am not keen on taking the dash apart, undoing the wiring, shipping this one back, waiting to get a new one, redoing the wiring, dealing with the dash panel again... I will live with it.I wouldn't complain if they want to send a functional replacement, though.UPDATE: The buttons have all stopped working. I can no longer switch modes. It's stuck on FM and being used with my old Bluetooth-to-FM transmitter. The one I bought this unit to replace. Not happy.

No Regrets at $24.99, Now It's $17.99!
I bought this to replace a Kenwood CD/Stereo in a 10 year old camper. I'm not skilled at installing stereos in vehicles, but managed to install this without a hitch. I powered it on, and low and behold it worked. Paired with my phone in seconds. Radio worked. SD card slot worked. I took off one star because the instructions are so small I almost needed a magnifying glass, and, of course, they were poorly written. Nothing in the instructions even mentioned the fade/balance. My camper has two outdoor speakers I was able to isolate with the old unit's fade function, but not so with this one. It isolated either right or left, but not both rear. In another installation it might work fine. I ended up having to disconnect those two speakers. The lettering on the unit itself is almost unreadable because of it's small size, too. I wouldn't recommend trying to figure it out while driving. This is not a high end stereo, so don't expect high end sound, but it doesn't sound much different from the Kenwood I swapped out, over the same the speakers. I wanted Blue Tooth and SD card instead of CD, so I took a chance at $24.99 and have no regrets. Nice upgrade for an older RV. At $17.99 it's practically disposable. How Amazon can provide this much technology and free shipping for $17.99 is remarkable.

The sound is ok. The remote is absolutely garbage.
The sound is ok. The remote is absolutely garbage, and has to be less than an inch away pointed directly at the receiver face to work...if you can actually get the remote to register you pressed a button. Installation was pretty straight forward, but had some interesting caveats with the constant and switched powers. Bench tested normal on vehicle normal, added ground loop, powers reversed, rechecked wiring all ok unhooked wired powers in reverse, worked for 2 ignition cyles...poweres switched back to normal, pulled unit, bench tested... repeated process on bench was able to recreate situation... unhooked all, reinstalled normal in vehicle, works. This likely will not affect someone who just installs the head unit once. That said, for the price, If you DON'T need a remote (say, for a hidden system) it should work fine.
