tons of info and is good quality so that's why I'm rating it 4/5
This is a biased review so read with caution. Dont get me wrong the book has tons of pictures, tons of info and is good quality so that's why I'm rating it 4/5. Being a huge fan of the band personally I was expecting to dive into the mind of Dani and the rest of the band on a more personal level but that's not how this book is written. This book is more like a history text book written from a third person point of view. The book throws a bunch of information your way. For some that can be awesome but for me the huge amount of info at times felt irrelevant to the bands story. As I said this is a biased review and I actually let a friend borrow the book and his opinion of it is the complete opposite and he loves it haha.

A Must-Have for any Metal/Horror/Occult fan!
If you want a book that has it all with a ton of color pictures on EVERY page, flavored history of darkness and the occult, and just mesmerizing writing, then look no further. The Gospel of Filth is without a doubt the most interesting book on anything gothic/dark/scary/occult/artistic/musical out there. I've yet to see any book richer than this one in terms of occult history, the development of black metal (and many other different forms of metal), darkness, and decadence all in the same book. There are a plethora of pictures that have remained unpublished until this book surfaced, and there's literally eye candy on every single page. Order this now! You won't be disappointed! Even for those who think they know it all on the above mentioned topics, you'll learn a lot more than you bargained for.......And that's what makes a stellar book!

Good Purchase.
This Book is mostly about the Band's (Cradle of Filth) uprising, and some of their influences, etc. It's a good Book, and has a good amount of pictures within. If you are as big of a Cradle fan as I am, then you should definitely enjoy this. The only negatives I can really say about it, it's one of those Larger Books that just isn't good for Paper-back. Meaning, if you open it, it bends the hell (no pun intended) out of the spine. Still a good book, and arrived on time, in good condition. Just, don't read it too much...

!
As a huge Cradle of Filth fan, I was always very interested in the beautiful and articulate music they create. Dani is such an intellectual and watching/reading interviews always left me with a hunger for knowledge. This book is an amazing source if you're a fan of the band, goth/metal culture, the occult or bold art. The photography and art in this book is beautiful and the content very interesting. Written vey articulately, this book has inspired me in my music, photography and art and I have no doubt it could do the same for others. The background of the band isn't the only thing that is covered.Very, very good book. This truly is THE bible of decadence and darkness.

BASIC, impossible to turn down
This is not a book. This is a gateway to a whole galaxy of knowledge.I tried to read just a bit of it, but it's so well written that's a pleasure.Page after page of fact filled data, Dani's comments only make it more enjoyable.I won't give details, but if you have the slightest interest in anything related to the dark realm, this is a good starting point. The author talks to the reader with respect, never skipping details or using scientific complicated vocabulary.I can easily see this as one of those desert island books.A great addition to any metal, horror, dark fantasy fan.

This book has brilliant artwork of photography and graphics
This book has brilliant artwork of photography and graphics. I actually managed to read the entire thing though I disagreed with most of it's ideology. Cradle has always mastered the exercise of the beauty of darkness- so this work's beauty wasn't a surprise. I gave it only three stars because it's by no means a treatise or manifesto in order to warrant the name "bible" and because Dani Filth, though I've always been a love/ hate fan, I'm still his fan, but I still wish I went to high school with him so I'd have the opportunity to torment him and take his lunch money.

Surprisingly good large format book
I am a cradle of filth fan and bought this book for a spot of light reading. I am pleasantly surprised as to what a good read it is. Firstly the large paper back style of book was much better that the pic looks on the web. A light read without gratuitous violence and depravity. In fact a rather light read about metal bands, gothic cinema etc. All in all good value and definately recommended for 'Cradle' fans

Cradle as an anecdote
I bought this because I've been a Cradle of Filth fan for about ten years, and wanted to learn more about the band and Dani, but Cradle is more of an anecdote in this publication, not to say that it's not interesting or worth the buy. The topics of discussion range widely from cinema to literature. Halfway through the book now, and will finish it. There are lots of images for those who don't like reading :)

It's called a Bible for a reason. It has everything revealed, like it or not.
Imagine world known fairytales and myths dissected and their creators and writers and their influence on cinematography examined under the magnification glass at the angle of morbid yet open-minded, from the perspective of dedicated fan and yet still objective. Now link all that to the history of Europe and look even closer at what was happening to the Northern lands most brilliant and most twisted minds. Now tie it all to the history and creative engine of one of the most notorious and popular metal band as main inspiration. Now adorn this tome with colorful illustrations of the bands art as well posters of books and movies. Then you'll have Gospel of Filth, a deep precise and smothered in mythology analysis of Cradle of Filth, with Dani Filth himself discussing personal and band's directions and attractions. Even if you are not the band's fan, this is a must have for a fan of gothic culture, horror literature and movies, literature history inquirers, metal music fans, and lovers of all things macabre, mysterious, erotic, and dark.
