Breville Bakery Chef Stand Mixer, 5 qt

I bought this as a replacement for my kitchen aid stand mixer. After reading the reviews I decided this one was worth a shot , it is also the mixer of choice on a baking show I watch. While it doesn’t have the options of pasta attachments or meat grinding attachments, it is for me hands down a better mixer. I love the built in light , the digital speed display, the included attachments are amazing , the pour shield actually works and stays in place while using it. I love also that this came with both a glass and stainless steel bowl, the glass one is slightly larger. I’ve used this multiple times and I absolutely love it !!!

The media could not be loaded. For years I’ve had a KitchenAid professional mixer. When we moved I discovered it did not fit in the space between our counters and cabinets. The thing was heavy and a pain to lug around when I needed to use it. After much deliberation I decided on the Breville mixer. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. I’m not sad at all to see my KitchenAid go. It is a fantastic mixer. It’s sturdy, light weight, and is able batches of stiff consistency icing without issue. It comes with a whisk attachment, dough hook, metal mix attachment, and rubber scraper attachment. It also comes with a large glass bowl, a smaller stainless steel one. A bowl cover, mixing shield, and a spatula. The best part of all for me is that it is all dish washer safe. This mixer is absolutely worth every penny I paid.

This mixer does everything and does each task well. Low speeds are perfect for pizza and short doughs. Dough hook seems light but is perfect. The beater attachment is unlike any noncommercial mixer, creaming is done is usually half the time stated in a recipe. Everything fits perfectly and sits well on our countertop. Have not needed to use the whisk attachment yet, the beater has taken it's place. Bake four to five times a week and this mixer is always ready.

When my Kitchenaid stand mixer stopped working after 12 years, I decided it was time to get something different. I make a lot of bread and the primary use for my mixer is bread. I researched literally every brand of mixer on the market and read scores of reviews on Amazon and tried to be objective in selecting a new mixer. I wanted a mixer that would be reliable, sturdy, easy to use, and with enough bowl volume to permit me to make a double loaf of bread. I had already tried the Hobart and found that its bowl was too small. Breville got really good reviews on their other appliances so I thought I'd try it. I was disappointed.Pros: Very well constructed, really nice controls, quiet operation, good looking, and sturdy. Everything about its appearance speaks quality and reliability.Cons: (1) The bowl is too small and the mixer head is so far down in the bowl, so you can't add ingredients easily without the pour shield. But even then it is really hard to see how well it is mixing when you use the metal bowl, which is larger than the glass bowl. Really frustrating. (2) The volume of the bowl is so small that it would not hold enough dough for two loaves of bread. (3) The dough hook is designed incorrectly so that it pulls the dough up onto the mixer head when it is kneading the dough, instead of pushing it downward. This was the most frustrating thing of all. Clearly, this mixer is not designed to mix bread. (4) You cannot change attachments without tilting the mixer head backward. And I could not figure out how to tilt the mixer back without removing the bowl. So every time you want to change attachments you have to loosen the bowl, tilt the head backwards, remove the attachment, put on the other one, tilt the head back, and re-attach the bowl. Wow!I really wanted this mixer to work for me, but it has too many design flaws to be satisfactory. Breville needs to meet with a focus team and then go back to the drawing board. I sent it back and got the latest Kitchenaid 7 Qt Pro series. I am thoroughly pleased with my decision.

I bought this because I love baking, but wasn’t that interested in all the KitchenAid add-ons. It’s a stand mixer, and it does that very well. It is very sturdy. I bake bread two to four times a month and it’s been great. The scraper paddle means I don’t have to scrape the bowl as much for cake batters. You can either set a timer, otherwise it starts counting for you which is so handy! Highly recommend.

I purchased the Breville Bakery Chef Mixer a few weeks ago. This is a beautiful mixer, BUT when the mixer is on medium-high or high speed the mixer head vibrates and makes a strange sound. Breville customer service promptly sent an email with various options for a replacement. Bottom line response from Breville: “this product is currently out of stock... We anticipate this issue to be resolved in one to three weeks.” Really! Out of stock! I will update this review In a few weeks.

This mixer is so loud, it sounds like a tornado is in my house. Need earplugs to run it.

I like it, I currently have 2 kitchen aid mixers, this one out performs them hands down on looks and perfomance. The scraping tool works wonderfully. A solidly built appliance.
