this will work just fine, and it is a real bargain - Revised
See Revision, below! An OK mount, but it is difficult to get it adjusted to move smoothly when you want it to, but not when you don't.If you want to mount a monitor to the wall and never move it, this will work just fine, and it is a real bargain, but if you want to move it around...I have a small (32") flat screen, weighs maybe 7#. I have the mount properly mounted to a wood bookcase, but rotate & fold it out and around when I want to actually watch TV. So, when it is stored, the TV is in Portrait mode, when I'm watching it, it is in Landscape mode.If I loosen the mount up to allow smooth rotation, then when I store it away, over the course of a day, the weight of the TV makes it angle down ( like this \ versus | ). And, the swing arm also moves the TV away from the bookcase. So, instead of having the TV neatly stored away beside the bookcase, 3 inches +/-, and straight up & down, it creeps out and angles, so it is more like 7 inches away at the top, and 3 inches at the bottom.Normally, I wouldn't care, but this is in my "formal" living room, and I tried to make the TV as inconspicuous as possible when it isn't in use.If I had to do again, I would have likely bought one with either separate tilt vs. rotation tension adjustments, or one with a thumbscrew adjustment (vs. an hex head screw).REVISED - added TWO Stars....Shortly after I posted the 3-star rating of the unit, I got both an Email and Phone call from Cheetah. They wanted to know what was wrong, and what could be done better. I told them what I said in the review, and they understood. They then recommended a larger mount, even though my TV was far less than the 40# rated limit of the original mount. A few days later, I had a much beefier mount, with the same *basic* design, but, it has a swivel ball that is a different material (softer? stickier?).The new mount used the exact same holes that the old one used, which was good, since I was mounting it on the side of a bookcase. I mounted it on Sunday, and tightened it up to that the TV both rotated & tilted smoothly. However, due to the different swivel ball material, it hasn't moved at all since then. Which is what I was hoping for.The new mount is this: "Cheetah Articulating Arm TV Wall Mount 23-Inch to 49-Inch, 20-Inch Extension" (ASIN: B001GTT0VO), which is only a little bit more money than the original mount. I should have purchased that one to begin with, but Cheetah was kind enough to correct my mistake. They have also tried to reach me a couple of times since Sunday to make sure it does work - we've just missed each other. Evelyn at Cheetah was a very nice person to deal with, and it is obvious that Cheetah does care about their products and the reputation of the company. So, for that, I give them 2 more stars!Kudos!

I Actually Have a Favorite Wall Mount now...
For a smaller set anyway, figure 19 - 22 MAYBE 24 inches THIS is PERFECT. BEAUTIFULLY packaged, I must say. Really. One reviewer wrote he felt that it was unattractive aesthetically. I don't get it. Maybe he got one that slipped through quality control inadvertently??? I don't find one single thing about this item unattractive. It's fairly compact, lightweight, all that. The level that came with mine sits flush and reads level, but even if you're off by just a hair or even more, the piece that the set attaches to will rotate one way or the other to make the set level.I have NO complaints about this item. I've got TV's all over the place in my place, ALL are wall mounted except the 50 inch (not sure I wanna go there with that one) but THIS mount, the Cheetah Mounts ALAMB Articulating Arm TV Wall Mount Bracket for VESA 100 (so we know we're talking about the right item here) impresses me the most. I like it a LOT.One thing that MIGHT be PROBLEMATIC FOR SOME FOLKS ABOUT THIS MOUNT IS THAT: where most wall mounts come apart, and you secure the mounting plate onto the back of the set THEN just place the TV onto the bracket mounted to the wall; with this one the whole shebang cannot be disassembled. That means that you secure the entire mount, in one piece to the wall, as opposed to two pieces where the two then join together onto the wall. With this one: once the mount is mounted on the wall you then have to possibly have a second person to hold the set in place while you put the screws through the holes in the mounting plate and into the back of the set.Besides that issue, I never entertained the thought of having a favorite anything like a wall mount before, but now I have one. Crazy.wfn

Great bang for the buck. But please read on for a SERIOUS WARNING!
Great bang for the buck. Very solid mount. The only part I am not totally pleased with is that there is a little play in the part where the ball mounts to the piece that you bolt to the arm. The play is in the direction of rotation in either direction. It makes it a little more challenging to level the top of the monitor, and if bumped it will shake a bit. This leads me to the main reason I wrote this review. I think there should be a very bold warning to make sure that the center screw in the piece that connects to the monitor is tight. This is the screw that is not accessible once the monitor is attached. It secures the monitor mount to the metal piece that connects to the arm. I did not even think to check it, it didn't stand out to me at all. Then when I mounted the monitor to the arm, it seemed very wobbly and unstable. I could not understand how it could be so sketchy. So I went back and looked at pictures of the mount, and saw the center screw, which I realized must be for holding the ball to the metal piece that mounts to the arm. I unscrewed the mount from the monitor, and found center screw was very loose. I feel like I am very lucky that the monitor did not come crashing down. After tightening it up and remounting the monitor, it is much more stable, but still has the bit of play I mentioned above.I am planning on writing the seller to find out if that bit of play is normal, or if maybe there was some wear from the movement up until the screw was tightened, or maybe I just got a sub-par part. I'm also considering taking it back apart, and adding some loctite to the threads. It is such a crucial mounting point, I'd hate to risk it coming loose. It is sketchy that it shipped this way. The screw should have been tight, or left out altogether. Please be warned, and check yours before mounting. You might even want to disconnect the monitor and check it even if already mounted, just to be safe.EDIT: The seller was very helpful, and sent out a new unit. The new unit does not have the same issue, everything is perfect. I am very pleased with both the mount and the seller. The price to quality ratio easily earns this product 5 stars, but I am going to leave it at 4 because of the initial experience (based on the unit I received, not the seller...seller is A+).
