ColumbiaUnisex-adult Whirlibird Watch Cap Beanie

Columbia is one of my go to brands but I purchased this beanie based on the reviews. I read that this beanie fits a bit small so with me having a smaller head I thought it was a good match....yep! This beanie is definitely a bit on the small side. That may be important to know if you have a larger head you would be disappointed with your purchase. Most winter hats look foolish on me because most unisize hats are just to big for me...this fits better than any winter hat I've owned. Construction and fabric is above avg. Overall great beanie.

I have a small head so I'm not taking the fit into consideration as much as i am the overall warmth, quality and price of the item. It's somewhat thin, loose (for me), doesn't cover the ears well, and doesn't provide much help with wind. If you live in the midwest, looks elsewhere. I tried this and another hat from Amazon before going to Walmart and finding a cap for $6 that was better than the $20+ hats i bought on Amazon. I gave it two stars because it may be okay for those who live in more hospitable winters.

I'll start with what most others say, this beanie runs small. I've used it for a week in the hopes that it would stretch but it Columbia uses good materials that stretch right back into place. With that being said the hat keeps my balding head quite warm but does little for my large ears. My wife has now taken possession of it since it fits her much smaller head well. So unless you have a small head I don't recommend this.

What is with this one-size-fits-all mentality? Everyone knows that one size does not fit all. I do not have a very large head but this hat is too small. It does not cover my ears much, and the moment I start moving my head the cap slips off the tops of my ears and doesn't cover them at all. If it fit properly I would have kept it, although at $19 the cap is also way overpriced.

Experts say you lose up to 45% of your body heat from an uncovered head. Not with this baby. It is warm & comfortable on the coldest winter nights. I wear it every day, up to 18-20 hrs a day and hardly know it's there. Best of all it never irritates the skin on my forehead like some material does. Don't get one of these, get two!

This hat is pretty warm and I have to deal with Wisconsin winters, so that's saying a lot. The look is great and it seems to be of decent quality.The only knock on this hat is that it's about 1/4" -1/2" too short. I have a large head and although the hat fits, it often slides above my ears, which makes the hat look ridiculous on me. I wish the hat was just a little bit longer for those of us with big melons for our heads.

Perfect measurements for an uncuffed beanie. 7 inches long. so about mid ear or so.Its 8 inches wide. I didn't think it'd be so hard to find an uncuffed beanie. It took me about 8 different ones to find this bad baby. Definitely my go to this year.

Arrived on time, but there were multiple holes in it for some reason? The holes add character but I would have preferred it without factory defects. Sometimes things on Amazon are listed like normal, but are actually outlet quality. You have to sift through the fine print to find the statement if it's even stated.

Decided to give it 2 stars purely because it would be a decent beanie if it was big enough. It's slightly better made than the £2.50 beechfield beanie, not as good as the far more expensive north Face bones beanie. That being said the sizing of it is truly miserably, the north face one is great it covers right below my ears, the beechfield one is just above my ear lobes, this thing? Doesn't even fit half way! Totally useless for keeping warm

I like it as it is a nice size for my small head and it’s a snug fit, but the knit effect leaves imprints from the hat on my forehead when I remove it. If you like looking like a Klingon then it’s for you. So now I’ll only wear it if I know I’m not going to be taking it off till I get home.

Bought for skiing in Sweden, temps down to -10C. Kept me nice and warm, good value for money. Fit as expected.

Good quality beanie, I use them for hiking and have several from columbia, used their gear for years.

A nice piece, perhaps of medium thickness. Good for a colder day, also good as protection from the sun in a spring day.
