A lifesaver. Literally.
This little machine has finally motivated me off my ass and into exercise!Short version: Buy it and don't give up! You won't regret it. It's sturdy and does the job.Long version: I am a 54 year old fat, sedentary gamer with a congenital heart defect. My blood sugar and blood pressure were so high at my last doctor's visit, that I had to make some drastic changes. Along with a better diet (no salt or sugar, much less potatoes and bread), I knew I would have to start exercising. I bought this stair stepper mostly because it seemed sturdy, was rated for more than my weight, and was in my price range. The first week or so, it felt impossible. Like others have said, the tension is set high, and there is no way to adjust it. Don't panic! It gets better. At first, I could only do two minutes at a time, then five mins. Now, one month later, I just finished a 35 minute session! The tension loosened up a bit, and I got better, too. Here is what helped me. I parked it next to our TV and put together a Youtube exercise playlist. I chose songs with good rhythms and fun videos to keep me motivated (tip: Paula Abdul's "Straight up" is still excellent!). It is MUCH easier to step to dance music than to plod through while watching a movie. For better cardio, you'll want to take shorter steps. Again, this is where the music comes in handy to keep you on rhythm. Shorter steps have lighter tension, too.Since I've been able to do longer workouts, I've noticed my weight coming off easier. I've been losing about a pound every 3-4 days. The best part is that I was able to lower my blood pressure from 170/95 to 138/88. It's not perfect, but it's a drastic improvement, and I didn't have to go on meds. The machine gets about an hour of use each day, and so far it works beautifully and hasn't developed any loud noises. If you are looking for a reliable exercise machine that won't take up much space and doesn't cost a ton of money, this one is an excellent choice!

Best thing to get moving
This has been the best thing to get me moving. I am generally healthy & fit but can be lazy & not exercise. A few 20 min sessions on this stepper gets me going, ups my metabolism & basically jumpstarts my body after being a couch potato. The way the stepper moves with natural hip movement is awesome. I have a different one which only goes straight up & down & it definitely restricts. This one has a more open flow & is fun to use. I set up my iPad on a stand & just watch something to pass the time easier while stepping.I will say initially I thought there was a problem bc the digital counter seems off but now I don’t care, it’s a great device & I just go by what time I started. I have not seen any others like this that mimics the natural movement of the hips. I bought it sometime around Covid & it’s still just great. Sure I stop & then go back to it but it’s a million times better than doing nothing at all. Grateful to have something that I can easily do at home & it really doesn’t take up much room. Definitely working the hips, butt, thighs, even the stomach if you watch your body position- the most important areas!

Good Product strong resistance
Not a bad product. It works but gotta stay consistent for the results. lol. Easy to assemble. It has alot of resistance tho so if your legs are fragile may be complex for you.

Check all moving parts and screws ASAP
**Updated review**So, the manufacturer promises a 30 warranty, but thankfully, the return window from Amazon is 90 days. I was allowed to return my original purchase and get a replacement at no extra cost. The process was super simple and convenient.Since getting the new stepper I have absolutely zero complaints. It's stable, quiet, and provides me with the 45 minutes of cardio I need daily. Like all machines it requires a small amount of maintenance, but for how much I use it I consider that totally reasonable. Also, the company itself is very responsive to concerns and questions and seems more than happy to work with their customers to ensure their product is working optimally (they sent me an email asking how they could help when they saw my original 3 star review). All in all, this has turned out to be an excellent addition to my in home workout regiment and well worth the money I spent.****The design of this product is much better than many that are out there and feels much more sturdy in use. This was the second stepper I bought after the first one I purchased began squeaking loudly and ultimately falling apart after only three months of use.Originally, I loved this machine. I was able to go from a 25 minute workout 4 days a week to 45 minutes 7 days a week no problem and it really helped replace my normal outdoor activities. However, just a few months in and once again, the intolerable squeaking. And not just a small sound you’d accept and expect from a machine like this, but a sound so loud I’m actually worried the neighbors in the downstairs apartment can hear it. I’m now relegated to exercising with my headphones on full volume to cancel the sound out for myself and hope that the area rug in my living room is thick enough so the sound isn’t going downstairs. And I think this should go for anyone buying any home exercise equipment: Check immediately at all moving parts and screws for fit. If something is missing or seems off, send it back right away. I should’ve done that with this stepper as I’ve now noticed one of the allen screws that holds the right back end of the peddle in place was screwed in crooked and then glued in place. It creates just enough space for that peddle to loosen and I now have to tighten the two other screws on the bottom after every workout which, btw, are not terribly easy to get to and I’m sure will strip fairly soon.It could’ve been a great machine, and maybe for those who got one that was assembled with 100% accuracy, it is, but I’m left somewhat dissatisfied after spending $100 and getting just over 2 months of use on it.
