Spectacular and Satisfied
In the description, it claims that these hats are made in a Russian factory(it's possible that's fabricated, but I hope not)and then sent to New York. Just that caught my attention. Russian history is fascinating.I like this hat, for one, it keeps my head warm. The large, is bigger than I had expected but still fits. Looks well made, doesn't look cheap at all; the hammer and sickle pins seemed cheap, but oh well. Excellent choice to add to your winter apparel.Lately, for some reason I've breaking out with pimples on my scalp, so I've be shaving my head so I can wash my head better with soap. Due to my hair being so short, I've been getting more cold, and that's why I invested in thisIt's awesome to know that this is made in Russia(if that's even true, then which that would be a total let down if it were false).I recently had picked up this book, called Dancing Under the Red Star; it tells the story of an American family torn apart by the depravity of Russia during Stalin's Regime. Reading of the oppression of the Russian people was saddening.I disagree with leftist ideology, but just for show I'll leave the insignia on the hat; I'd be offended to be called a "communist" just because of wearing the insignia. In my opinion, to qualify to be a commie, is, to believe in leftist ideology, in which I don't.

It was a good hat
honestly, solid product and helped make my halloween costume look really good! too bad it flew off of my head while I was in the car and was stolen. though not a fault of the product or it’s manufacturer, it’s just a good hat.edit: they sent another one, many blessings to you guys. this will keep me very warm!

Ushanka
Very happy with this purchase. It came with instructions how to attach the Soviet star. Not needed in my case because my ushanka came with star attached already. It is very warm and fits quite well I usually wear seven and a quarter to seven and a half inch that is 58 to 60

Soft and warm ushanka
I am very pleased with my hat. I bought the black size L (59cm) ushanka. The artificial fur is subtly glossy, soft to the touch, good quality. The fact that the ushanka folds up means you have about 3 layers of fur around your head, making the hat *very* warm indeed. Looking from the side, the 3 layers of fur (when folded up) make the wall of the hat an inch thick. The inside of the hat is quilted. Furthermore, the pins and coin that come with the hat are a very nice touch. I got the double-headed eagle pin.About sizing: My head is actually 57cm measuring around my eyebrows and the widest part of my head. After reading some reviews, I decided to err on the side of looseness so I got the 59cm size L hat. Size L sits a little loosely on my head. For example, if I put the hat on my head and turn upside down, the hat slips off. However, if I slide two fingers under the brim (by my forehead), the hat stays on even when I'm upside down. This seems like a good fit for me.
H**!
The drawstrings came loose, but the hat itself will keep my head warm.
The media could not be loaded. The drawstrings came loose but thankfully I noticed in time, so I tied off the loose ends. The hat will keep my head warm and has a nice texture. The badge unfortunately broke off, not that I really cared for the badge but that shows that the badge was cheaply made.

a beautiful hat
the hat took 3 wks to arrive, and it probably spent a bulk share of this time sitting in US customs. due to this interruption, you really could not track it. the hat was shipped in a combination of 2 plastic bags, wrapped in brown paper, then secured with twine. at first sight, the hat was majestic! it is of superior construction with quality of the highest order...and its is WARM! the thing that really sets this hat apart is the insignia badge, i choose the red star and wreath. NOW, the fun part. if you dont mind wearing something that will cause you alot of attention, be prepared, because you will get alot of it! i wore it during an outing a few nights ago, and i was approched by many curious people and had a deluge of compliments poured over me....it was almost embarassing as i was smugly basking in this glory..a couple of side notes - the two additional red star pins were NOT shipped, but i can live without them. the Russian coin WAS included in the order. lastly, these hats in all variations have increased $3 in price since early December. the seller Dirent is top notch, and any inquiries were answered promptly.

Warm conversational piece
My high functioning autistic son asked for this for Christmas. He has a weird sense of humor. He loves the construction and materials of the hat! He thinks it’s a funny conversational piece. I think he likes that it makes people react differently because of the Russian pin. It’s hard for him to strike up a conversation. My son wearing this hat does not think it’s disrespectful to the US or Russia. He actually told me some guy asked him wear he got the “pimped out Cadillac hat”. I laughed so hard because I can see how someone can mistake the Russian pin as a Cadillac symbol. He said so far it’s his favorite hat. He probably has 30 very stylish or old school/classic hats. He said it’s extremely warm and loves that the side flaps comes down. I bought him a Large. I have no clue how big his head is. I would guess average.
