Actually works
This guy works good little cheaply made so be careful and gentle. Have caught many wolf spiders and crickets with it.wish it was a bit sturdier and that it didn’t keep unscrewing but it works great for what I need.

Great invention
Living in Florida, I constantly have small lizards ( geckos) that come into my living space. It’s hard to capture them so you usually find them dead behind a couch. On a whim I thought I would give this a try. if you just walk up slowly with the trap you can quietly come down on them, close the trap and release them outdoors. I feel so much better releasing these cute little guys than harming them & this works. I bought one for my neighbor & she’s now just as pleased.

Lifesaver for capturing pests for us squeamish types!
With the hot and rainy Florida summers, we get all kinds of critters coming into the house. Haven't had it for a week and already captured a cockroach and two little lizards in the house! Definitely recommended having on hand, especially for squeamish people like myself who don't want to remotely feel them through a paper towel!!

Great tool!
At first when I received this item I didn’t think it was going to work but I was wrong. I have caught many spiders, bees, wasp, lizards & other creepy crawlers. But then the other day a hummingbird flew into the house. After trying to steer it to the open door to go out without success, I finally remembered this bug catcher. Didn’t know if it would be big enough but I grabbed it anyway & found the hummer trying to get out our closed picture window. I gently put the cup over the bird & closed it. IT WORKED!!! I was so relieved to finally release it back outside & hoped I didn’t traumatize it too much. This thing works great! Going to get another to keep on our four season back porch. There are always creepy crawlers back there.

Got 2 of these
One for front door entrance and garage.I live in Florida so there is always frogs and geckos coming through entrances unexpectedly. This trapper is very helpful to catch and release. We have been able to easily catch frogs and geckos without stress instead of chasing with napkins and cups..Cover opens and closes well.Great quality and not too big. This product has been a huge relief in stress making it so much easier to catch critters. If you have a small critter problem this will help you out a lot.We put device over the critter then you can slide the plastic cover.Frog stays in there. And then we carry to bush and release from a distance and it works well.Cruelty free. Will buy again and would highly recommend.

Fool me twice, shame on me
My first try at this product came fully smashed. even tried to tape it together myself but it was too far gone. got a replacement through Amazon and the second one still had a broken piece in the box but was usable. After maybe 5 uses, the plastic door was falling off, the cup was cracking, and now the pole broke off again. I got this to not have to use a glass cup and run around for a piece of paper and turns out it’s just as fragile and not as easy to get a bug out of outside. Not buying a third time

Should have read the reviews before purchasing
Pros: Bigger, roomier version of the plastic cup and cardboard catch and release method, with the added bonus of a handle to extend your reach.Cons:- The advertising is slightly deceiving. The description on Amazon mentions "Extra long handle". The distance from the lid to the tip of the handle is 54 cm or 21 inches, as printed on the side of the box. I don't consider that as long or extra long, but I guess those terms are just relative, so technically I can't really complain.- The most important downside is that the printed text in the side of the box and in the printout inside the box imply that a twisting motion of the handle can open or close the lid without touching it directly. As others have pointed out, there is fact no mechanism like a wire, string, or spring that connects the handle to the lid. Perhaps the manufacturer meant that the twisting would orient the lid in a way that it will slide along the grooves due to simple gravity, thus opening and closing the bug detention chamber. There is however too much friction between the sliding door/lid and the grooves for the lid to fall into or out of place easily. One would still have to get closer to the bug detention chamber and touch the lid to slide it in/out to close it. Lubricating those grooves runs the risk of staining your walls, not to mention that this gravity-powered lid closing motion would not work if the critter was caught on the floor, as opposed to on a wall.

Best bug catcher
Best bug catcher ever. Wish the handle was longer. Use it regularly.
