Q: Is this vet recommended?

My vet recommended this as all other foods cause problems later on, even the posh ones in supermarket are full of shite apparently. Best bit, they don't sell any food for cats in my vet so I know he was being genuine

Q: Help if each pack contains the ingredients are chicken 28% pork 6% fish oil 2% plus other fats and minerals. which is 36% what is the other 64% ?

I have never bought IAMS kitten food, but have some adult food to hand. Generally about 36% is meat derived and the rest is from vegetable source. It gets confusing as there are two sets of information Expressed as percentages. The writing is very small but after the above info, the ingredients are all listed in terms of protein, fat, vitamins, fibre, mineral and water. As a whole product, 79.3% is moisture, 9.2% protein which would be the chicken, pork etc Hope this helps

Q: how long does this last?

A bit of a vague question so I will answer it in two ways. One: the use by dates give you ample time as I first purchased this kitten food in 2020, but didn't get a kitten until June 2021. The dates to use by were October 2022. Two: the box holds 12 pouches & as I only give wet food for twice a day, therefore a box lasts 6 days. The IAMS kitten dry food is there 24/7 for grazing whenever my kitten is peckish. I hope one or both the answers answer your question

Q: How many packs a day should I feed my 12 month old kitten?

Well my kitten is 7 months so I feed 3 time a day I give 2 pack of wet food and the third is give dry I suppose as she reach that age I would cut back to 2 pack but add the dry with the wet for bigger portion . Hope it helps
