Classic Cinema
If you were born in the late 70âs to early 80âs Iâd bet my life on this & that is that this film was loved by yourself & Iâd bet that youâve passed it on to your children & grandchildren, nieces & nephews, Godchildren, itâs classic great cinema that so many people grew up on & itâs under ÂŁ4, brilliant, absolutely brilliant. And although itâs on TV every Christmas Season & every now & then it still deserves a place amongst my rather small collection of some 20 DVDâs that are my favourite films of all time I have nothing else or need for anything else, now weâre talking from âOne Flew Over The Cuckooâs Nestâ to âThe Wizard Of Ozâ & from âSe7enâ to âUnforgivenâ , âTwelve Monkeysâ & âThe Gooniesâ is now rightfully in there. (nostalgia plays a massive role in me & Iâd assume most people owning this classic!).

IT'S OUR TIME ! - FUN-PACKED-FAMILY-MOVIE
A 1985 family adventure written by Steven Spielberg (executive producer) and directed by Richard Donner)The team on this treasure-seeking adventure includeMikey Walsh (Sean Astin) older brother Brandon (Josh Brolin) inventor like his dad Data (Jonathan Ke Huy Quan) the very talkative Clark 'Mouth' (Corey Feldman) and the tubby Lawrence 'Chunk' (Jeff Cohen) 'The Goonies' along with Andrea 'Andy' (Kerri Green) and Stephanie "Stef" (Martha Plimpton)When Mikey and Brandon's parents are threatened with foreclosure on their home, the Goonies left to their own devices wander up into the loft where their father stored his memories, by accident they come across an old Spanish map telling of long-lost treasure hidden not so very far away from where they live.Worth checking out? - of course, it is, though Brandon thinks it a wild goose chase. They set off minus Brandon at first to locate the whereabouts indicated on the map, which suggests as they discover is somewhere below an old restaurant by the coast. They discover it to be a hideout for a gang of villains, one of which had recently escaped from jail. The Goonies are joined by Brandon who they'd evaded earlier along with Andy and Stef. They have to get inside, after all, if there really is a treasure to be found it could save Walsh's home from repossession. When the Fratelli's leave the restaurant if but briefly, the Goonies and friends sneak in to look for clues.Accidently they will come across a passageway below the building which each starts to climb down to, however, in the process, they hear the villains car return, all but Chunky manage to scramble down.Chunky is captured by Jake, Francis and the ruthless leader Mama (Anne Ramsey)Chunky will be tied-up and taken to the room the Fratelli's younger and disfigured brother Lotney "Sloth" Fratelli is held chained-up.After some threat, Chunky finally tells the Fratelli's where his friends had gone, the villains will give chase. In the tunnel, the Goonies and the girls will encounter many deadly booby-traps..Meanwhile in the remote room, Chunky begins to form an understanding with the not-so-bright but terribly strong Sloth (which will come in handy later)The adventurers will finally find more than they could have hoped for Captain 'one-eyed' Willy's' ship is anchored in a sealed from the outside grotto. But, with the Fratelli's closing in, will the Goonies get any of the treasure?Like the tunnel, the ship has its booby-traps alsoFortunately, Sloth has broken his chains and also freedChunky, will they reach the adventurers in time?Must say, a very oddball cast in this largely family-friendly movie. There is much humour along the way....perhaps not the fastest moving plot but entertaining nevertheless. The picture quality on the 4k format is very good considering the film is over 30 years old now.Enjoy -
