Definitely lava rocks
If you order these, make sure nothing else is shipped with them in the same package. It will totally smush the other item(s). Black soot comes out, or it did with my order. Understand that these are lava rocks, so I am not complaining. Just rinse them off with water and let them dry before you put them in your babies house. PERFECT!

Good but DUSTY!
Great size range, great color, but man are they dusty. I washed and washed and washed again and there is still powder gathering at the bottom of the bucket they’re in. Not a good choice for a tank that depends on water quality to keep animals alive.
