I needed this device for a Japanese imported car which does not accept the usual ODB 2 system, instead needing JODB.The scanner worked without any issues whatsoever, quickly and easily showing all relevant information. I was also pleased that it not only showed what the fault code was, but also explained what the code means (which another device I have does not use). I now use this device for my Volvo as well as the Japanese car as it is not limited to JODB.The scanner is nice and rugged with rugged grips, so no fears of it being damaged.

This was perfect for my Japanese imported Nissan Elgrand.Connected after a few seconds and cleared the erroneous fault light on my dashboard.Very pleased.

Like I said If you happen to own an imported Japanese Toyota you need this.I own a Toyota Corolla Fielder Hybrid imported.Now while such imports are becoming more plenty full and parts become the same.The place I live not even the car test centres have the ability to run a test on them.They put a notice on your pass Their system cannot connect to the car.Now in saying that. After plunging it to my own car. I had to go to the japan section to find the Toyota Corolla Fielder Hybrid. As I could not find it in the European section But that was not a problem to do.So I ran the test It went through the testing quickly. Leaving some sections out. But it will do that depending on the car specifications. not all car models have the same . So if their is something your car don't have it cannot test it. That's only logical.You can do a battery test. You can do a test while the car is running for emissions before you have to bring it into the test centre for testing.It also has life time updates So as new things come along . You can keep up with them. So that can only be a good thing.Now this is for Toyota and a few other cars.You can find the full list of cars it is suitable for on the sellers page here. By downloading the instruction manual. If your car is on it then this is the one for you.Now the test I carried out showed no faults I did not expect any to show us.But that is what most people will find.It is only when a fault shows up that the real value of having one for your car, is appreciatedFirst of all it will tell you the fault and give you the code for that fault. All cars as far as I know use the same code to fault. A list of the fault codes can be downloaded from a lot of places on line.So if you know the fault and the part required and you can do it yourself if you have the know how.So saving you some money.But you also know the problem when having someone look at your car.Plus it will teach you a little more about how your car works and why sometimes it wont.ANCEL Customer ServiceNow I did have an inquiry about something with regards to the unit. Good tester, not such an explicit manual. Cleared my faults a few times, but i wish it had a more complete user manual.

You've probably come to the 1 star reviews to read all the negative things before you buy (i did the same). Most of the 4/5 star reviews say it's the best thing ever, and most of the 1 star reviews say it just doesn't work at all. THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING. However, there is a lack of info on this amazon listing and in the instructions that come with the product. Basically, the product won't work if you don't update the software before use. Simply plug in the USB-C to the device and the USB end into your laptop. Google ANCEL and go to their official site. Go to the devices tab and find the device you bought. There will be a user manual for you to download but also a software update🤩 download it (it's a .rar file so you'll need to download winrar (free softwear) to unzip the file.) Open the read me file, read the instructions and go from there. None of this info is stated on this amazon listing and the manual that comes with the product is a generalised manual for all their products. I hope this helps anyone that had the same initial issue of it not working that I did. Only rating this product 1 star so people see this info before they're detered from buying. I rate this product 4.5 stars.

I bought this Ancel JP700 purely on the basis it is optimised for Japanese vehicles. I own a 2016 Suzuki Vitara 1.6. I have no problems with the car, but I just wanted a piece of kit to check there was nothing lurking in the background I was unaware of.On receipt, I opened up the package and plugged the supplied USB data transfer wire into the bottom of the unit. I then went onto the Ancel website and to the downloads link to get the latest library update. I downloaded the .rar file to my laptop running Windows 10 and extracted the file. I plugged the code reader into my laptop USB port and the code reader lit up. The screen remained blank until I opened up the application file and immediately it began updating the Ancel JP700 to the latest update. Once complete, I unplugged the unit and took it out to my car.I started up the car and plugged the code reader into the OBDII port and the code reader lit up. I entered the set up menu and selected Suzuki. Basically, I just used my common sense and flicked through the buttons. The unit does come with instructions but it is intuitive enough, so much so, I mastered it in a mere minute or so. I'm no expert or rocket scientist, it really isn't difficult navigating through this code reader due to its basic operation.Bottom line is, I didn't find any trouble codes at all, which is exactly what I had hoped for. I saw information that I wouldn't ordinarily have the opportunity to view. I'll keep it in the car for future use. It's a basic bit of kit that works which is all I wanted out of it. The price wasn't too bad either, especially with an extra 10 percent off when I bought it and it was considerably cheaper buying from Amazon than elsewhere.
