How long is the cord?

not very long, I'd say 30 inches sounds right once untangled and stretched - it reaches from my thin client across the keyboard from the left side of the keyboard with some slack but not much else, it's used at work so can't give exact dimensions sorryit's designed for a laptop so not intended to be long is my reasoning it does have two usb ports and a 00 button which has been more amazing then I thought, as well as the Tab-key which is why I bought it initially

Will this work with a Chromebook?

I am not sure, but you should ask the seller. It is better off that way. I use it as a basic key pad.
