Perfect for My Purposes
As far as I can tell without scientific testing equipment, this is genuine paracord. The outer tube is of high quality and there are seven braided strands within. In an emergency this cord can be cut to length, as needed and separated into its outer sheath and seven strong strands. Lesser quality, imitation paracord often has unbraided, continuous strand fluff inside the outer tube.I use parachute cord for crafts, lanyards, pulls or anything where a high quality cord of this type is desired. I also carry a 50' hank on wilderness hikes or when travelling. So far, I've added green and dayglo yellow/green to my collection. The colors I got are just as shown in the Amazon product description.

cant beat the green!
Not only is green a great outdoor color, but the dark green I bought is a tough rope. I use it for crafting purposes, but also made a see saw weave clothes line out of it for camping purpose. I'd also say its easy to work with, not too stiff, not to soft; I've also used this paracord to tie a small leg trap around a tree, in which I caught a squirrel. All around good cordage

Great quality product, awesome color choices
I gave the 550 paracord I purchased all 5 stars because: 1) it was Actually 550 paracord not some imitation. 2) there were so many options I can't imagine not finding an acceptable color. 3) Probably one of the most versitile products on the market and at a very reasonable price.I'm a reasonably large man, I would feel perfectly comfortable with only 1 strand holding me up.

Mostly for bracelets
I use this cord mainly for weaving survival bracelets. If you can weave well, you can all use it to make sturdy handles for heavy items. Haven't full tested up to the 550lb mark, so I can't speak to that. However, I've made strong weaves for heavy boxes, coolers, etc.Only gripe is that I wish the shorter lengths came on a spindle of some kind. Opening the product requires some untangling, and storing the extra can be cumbersome.

Great for tying up your plants, sagging branches, etc.
Based on the color you select, you will not even see the para-cord holding your plants upright, branches up off the ground, holding trees from saplings to 6" to 8" around straight, and I tie my 'boo up with it regularly as most know, 'boo tends to sag and bend whichever way the wind blows and I have my 'boo along a fence line where I want not just the privacy but for the 'boo to stand tight against the fence- and graciellis 'boo will top out at close to 30'+ so I have a second band of para-cord around the 'boo at around 15' as well. You cannot see the para-cord as it is the color of the 'boo and blends in well. Tons of other uses for para-cord as well- from taking 10 15' strands and pulling a car/truck to wearing a bracelet made from para-cord and in an emergency you have a rope worthy of being the pressure needed for a proper tourniquet to removing anyone one of the inner strands of fiber (most para-cord is 5 strands; some 7 strands inside the outer fabric of the para-cord) and using it to stitch a gash on a hiking trail; to using a long strand as a fish line and so on......multiplicity of uses, just watch the strength and the inner strand count....3 strands are fine for light work...and it'll last for years before needing replacement from inclement weather conditions.

Met all expectations
Thie met all of my expectations. It was a replacement for a paracord that was 10 years old. It is strong, lightweight, and very versatile. This is one of the items I never leave home without. Fear not, the old cord is happily living out it's retirement in my truck where it gets used for tying things down once in awhile. You can't toss an old friend into the trash!

tangles and kinks easily
the inner core is 7 separate strands simply twisted together without anything binding them to each other; the outer covering is a separate tube, but is also not attached to the the core strands. the result is that the instant the rope is cut, the inner strands unwind (fray), lose tension, and extend about an inch out of each cut end. the cover "tube" tangles around itself something awful. after i cut off the length i needed, i wrapped the remaining rope around an empty paper towel core but it took about 15 minutes to do that... analogy is a really old coiled phone cord that was twisted each time it's used but never untangled - it kinks back, ends up with weird spots that can't be straightened out.the rope is okay, but absolutely not a purchase i would repeat. not at all pleasant to work with.

Perfect if you know what you're using it for
The world of chordage is as broad as the world of tools. If you know understand it's use, you won't be disappointed in this product. It's versatile and a good value. I could use more of these, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again.
