This is a great little game for younger children. My 4-1/2 grandson loved playing it, and it's easy enough that I'm sure the 3 year old will love it too, and be able to play with only minor help. It's really good for teaching/reinforcing numbers and counting in a fun way. It's not a cooperative game, but it's also not competitive; there's no competing against the other players, there's just finding your own way to the finish line. I was surprised that after playing the game last night, it was the first thing my grandson asked for again this morning. And my grandson was very impressed that it was created by a 1st grader -- I'm hoping that thought will stimulate his own creativity! I have taught pre K for 12 years and this game is a winner! It is easy to play and pretty quick, allowing several kids to have a chance to play during our free play time. It increases self confidence as the children realize that they can use the color codes and illustrations to feel like they are reading! The kids get so excited to see the lady bug on the card that tells them they get to GO AGAIN! I love the Bully Ants and the story that goes with the game. I would love to see some plastic or rubber lady bugs as markers rather than the cardboard just for added durability but the cardboard markers are pretty sturdy and so cute!

I bought this game for my daughter who is 3 years old. She is learning how to count and learning about sharing and taking turns. We try to minimize TV time by playing fun games at least every other night if we can. This is a fun game for her, easy, quick to learn and quick to play. It's not long and drawn out, it's perfect for the attention span 3 year olds have! It's also really cute with the lady bugs.You get a game board and the game pieces are cardboard and the lady bugs sit in little plastic stands. The each have names that go along with their color (i.e., Olivia Orange). There are two seperate sets of large cards that come with the game. You take a card in this game instead of rolling dice. Instructions are simple and the game is very straightforward. I'm sure we'll be enjoying it for a few years to come.

A fun game to play with the kids

I have a daughter who is handicapped and recently turned 19yrs old. This was a birthday present for her, but little did we know how GREAT this game was! Not only did my daughter love this game, but so did my 8 and 6 yr old boys! FINALLY a game we can "all" enjoy. So here it is.. you pick a ladybug game piece and place it on START. From there you pick a card which tells you to 1. Go Back so and so Spaces and either stop or go again, 2. Pick a card that tells you to Go Forward so and so spaces and either stop and go again 3. Pick a card that gives you a designated number of aphids but you don't move your game piece. So, first challenge, land on the spot to avoid the preying mantis or land on a space to get the BUG OFF card to get past the preying mantis. Second challenge, collect 10 aphids to give to the ants to proceed. Usually we get past the ants and give them our aphids to then get a card telling us to GO BACK again which results in going round and round to collect ANOTHER 10 aphids. It really is a cute game that everyone in our family enjoys. A GREAT family game and a must have for any collection.

Bought this as a gift for my 2.5 year old and he loves it. He was able to learn the rules easy enough and it js easy to understand. It is a great "first board game" to introduce your little one to board games! He really enjoys it and asks to play all the time! It even holds his very short attention span! I would 100% recommend for toddlers.

Grandkids absolutely love this game
