Above and Beyond My Expectations
I had not used an air gun since I was a kid and my grandfather had a Daisy BB gun he would let me shoot in the backyard and I'd make my own targets on blank paper, creating my own imaginary enemies to defeat. I always enjoyed going there to shoot that gun and it's a fond memory from my childhood. I don't know why I decided to purchase an air gun now in my mid-20's, but let me say I was blown away with what I got for my money with this particular Air Pistol.The Umarex XBG has gone above and beyond my expectations since purchasing it over a month ago and using it almost daily. It has a realistic look to it and can easily be mistaken for a real gun if it is dark or if you're not close enough to see the detail. I've actually had friends who thought it was real as I held it in my hand and showed it to them, obviously these aren't exactly people with much if any firearm training but still, the point is it LOOKS nice.As for how it shoots, I have not been disappointed at all. It is pretty accurate, and shoots somewhere around 400 fps. It can easily injure someone or worse if not used carefully. I've been shot with it in the small of the back on a near-empty CO2 cartridge and it hurt bad enough I fell to my knees and had to clench my teeth in pain (though I was shot from no more than 3 feet away). I would suggest getting some extra magazines for this gun if you decide to buy it. It is not time-consuming to load by any means, but it does cut back on reloading time significantly with an extra pair of metal magazines (which can be bought either here on Amazon or at your local Wal-Mart).I love the fact that there is a button to release the magazine and the location of the safety is perfectly placed for a right-handed person to easily change on and off using your trigger finger. My ONLY complaint after a month of near daily use of this gun is the trigger pull. I wouldn't say that it's HARD to pull the trigger, but the gun would be more accurate if the trigger pull were a little more loose. Every time I shoot it I have to pull it back to a point where more exertion is needed to actually FIRE the gun and this can occasionally cause my hand to move slightly. This is only a problem when firing it one-handed however, so considering most of the time I use both hands it doesn't become a problem.Overall I would say DEFINITELY buy this gun if you are looking for a cheap but reliable and exciting air pistol. There are some other air pistols on Amazon and other sites that go for between $10-$40 more than the Umarex XBG and really have no noticeable extra improvements, often just bigger names. I'd recommend this for just about anyone who enjoys air guns and wants something cheap that shoots like a gun that shoots like a gun 2 to 3 times its price;

Good buy
Can’t beat this little pistol for the price and quality.Only thing that would make it better is if it came with an extra clip

Phenomenal, for the Price!
I'll keep this short: this BB gun is worth every penny. I purchased this item at about $23 and to be frank, I expected something that reflects the price: light, flimsy, and cheaply made. That is not what I received at all.This gun is has an amazing grip & feel to it: it's heavy and looks quite expensive, all things considered. The trigger feels quite nice as well; it's responsive and doesn't provide much resistance.It's made with a combination of plastic & metal. Unless you are up close and looking directly into the barrel, it looks like a real gun. It's well designed and very easy to use. The safety on this gun is well made and won't get flipped to "off" by accident. It has a decently loud "crack" when you fire it, and is as powerful as you'd expect from a low-end BB gun.My only gripe? When releasing the magazine, BB's tend to fall out, which you should be careful of losing if you have animals or small children. This, however, is normal with BB guns and didn't bother me much-- I simply hold the gun upside down when removing the magazine and then cup my hand under the opening to catch loose BB's when I flip it back over.Overall, this is a near flawless product that I'd recommend to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money but would like to own a good, solid, functional BB gun that can be used for loads of fun, and also tricking troublesome neighbors into believing you're a "real gun" owner.

Umarex XBG CO2 Pistol- Good Power, Accuracy, Safety, Easy to Load, & Lightweight.
Umarex XBG CO2 Pistol testPower and penetration of BBsWith a fresh CO2 cartridge I was able to shoot all the way through a steel bean can and a steel soup can. That is pretty strong to go right through steel. I checked the cans with a magnet and they have at least some steel or ferrous content, so they are not wimpy aluminum. Some people say you can get plenty of shots with one CO2 cartridge, making this a real power miser.Phone book test -Double sided pages so divided by 2 to get these numbers. Divided by two and add 10 or 15 pages for the cardboard cover and target. About 130 pages of denting, tearing. Most BBs were recovered at about 77-80 pages. That's a lot of penetration! Do not shoot anything you do not want to kill!Handy drop down magazineThe handy drop down magazine is easily accessed on the left side rear of trigger guard. It is a smooth operating, well fitting mag with easy to load features.Accuracy & sightsThe XBG has a long trigger pull which does not make for good accuracy, but the pistol itself is accurate. Due to the long trigger pull I was able to put half of the ten shot string within 1 & 1/2" bullseye at 21 feet and the rest were flyers.The sights are outlined white dot on post front for easy target acquisition, no rear sight white outline.WeightHere is the good part - the XBG only weighs in at 0.9 lbs.. That is light weight enough to take backpacking and jogging without a heavy load. I have one pistol which is a joy to shoot with a really crisp trigger pull and single action too, but it weighs several pounds, something you wouldn't want to carry around.SafetyThe safety is of modern design and disengages the trigger bar action when on. When off the trigger is 'in gear' and it will fire. The gun is very safe and will probably not accidentally fire at all. The trigger is a long pull and has to be deliberately cycled to fire. Unlike some guns which show red when both on safe and off safe, this gun only shows red when ready to fire, otherwise it shows white dot. Some guns only point to safe or fire with the selector. This gun covers the white and shows the red when ready to fire, and covers the red and shows the white when safety is on.My XBG is fairly new so I have experienced no CO2 leaks at all. I question those folks who have leak problems - did you buy your gun new or second hand? If new in the blister pack, unopened you should not experience problems. If you have leak problems you can buy an inexpensive O-ring kit and it might fix the problem.All in all I give this pistol 5 stars for power, accuracy, safety, easy to load, and being so lightweight.
