I'm reviewing this after my 2nd order of this fire starter. I have used others through the last 6 years and like this kind of charcoal fire starter, and hickory over the charcoal. I like the squares because it doesn't give off an odor in the charcoal like briquettes or flammable liquid fire starters. It is slower of course than liquid fire starters, but it sure is nice not having the smell and taste of liquid starter.I add a layer of charcoal on the bottom of my smoker-grill, then put 3 or 4 squares in, - in a triangle or square with charcoal around it and light it with a lighter, then cover the burning squares with charcoal and hickory. After a couple of minutes, I use an 18V blower and within 3 to 4 minutes, the charcoal is red hot. I love using these squares to start my grilling fires!

These are the best. We use them in home fireplace and for camping. They stay lit and really helps getting a fire going. The size is perfect

Love them. Very easy to get your fire started. Used them in our fire pit with pellets to get them started.

Works well for its intended purpose, but it is next to impossible to get a clean break along the perforations.The item ignites quickly and burns as one would expect. It lasts long enough to start the lump charcoal in my grill, but it is impossible to get a clean break along the perforations. Often they separate into two leaving two thinner pieces. They still work, but it is hard to say there are a set number of pieces per box when the pieces don't separate along their lines. Overall, it works, but I may try something else next time for comparison purposes.

These are amazing. We used to use the cookie looking fire starts - but those required you to scrape off material to start them and they made. A huge mess. These make no mess, they have little to no smell, and the light up Immediately. Even a small little flame will make it catch and then it’s set. Lasts long enough to get a fire started. At least 5-6 min easy. We just used these on our camping trip and they are the best ones we’ve ever used.
