The shower head is non-metallic but it does have a metal shower ball. Water regulations have to be followed in your state to determine if you can install a showerhead with a higher flow rate. If you can have a showerhead with 2.5gpm flow rate in your state, Moen offers model 205W2SRN (purchase separately). Is the thread on the shower arm tapered (npt) or straight (nps)?
