Would this fit a skinny 16 year old comfortably?

I got the XL for my 12yr old. He is tall and slim. They shrank after the first wash. Now when he lifts his arms, his shirt rises above his belly button.

What size should I get for a 7 year old boy?

Run small and shrink after cold wash

Product shrunk even in cold wash. Also they are run small. I bought for my 8 year old grandson, he is tall so I bought the size for 10-12 year olds and they shrunk to the point they don’t fit after the first cold wash.Other than that, the shirts were adorable and we wish they had fit.
