Can i use this for inground pool?

You probably could. I highly recommend fastening the ladder into place if you're using it in that manner. It does move around a bit when in use if it is not secured in place. Your homeowner's insurance may not cover it though. Insurance is tricky with pool slides.

how tall is the top of the step from the ground?

34 inches from top of slide to ground. 41" from top of handle to ground, 20" from the second step shown in the picture.

Are the steps adjustable? Seems like the various photos show the two steps in two different locations. I'm wondering if the steps are adjustable?

No they are not adjustable, they have places where the screws go.

How do I connect the hose to the slide on the back? I believe I may be missing a piece because the hose will not screw into what is on the back..

I took that piece that goes in the back with me to the local hardware store and bought a small 6 inch hose (it was clear but any color works) that fits on the piece and put a female hose connector on the other end where you connect the hose. I put a zip tie to hold it to the slide but you can get a hose clamp also just be careful not to over tighten and break the plastic. Less than $5 for all items. Another option is cut the male end of an extra hose you have lying around and attach that directly to the slide. $0.Good luck. My daughter has had lots of fun with it and my son will use it next when he grows a bit more.
