Upgraded from older models and a superb upgrade
We are replacing older Honeywell units after many years on uninterrupted service. We have ordered the largest unit HPA 5300B for our living room and another size down HPA5200 from this unit. The older units were round, large and somewhat noisy and the newer units are aesthetically pleasing, like an attractive piece of furniture. The pluses here are the Hepa filters are all the same for all sizes for all air purifiers under the Honeywell Insight series. Before these newer units, each Hepa filter were independent sizes and very costly. The largest of the newer units, HPA 5200B takes three Hepa filters and the next size down, HPA 5200, uses only two of the same Hepa filters. You can buy these Hepa filters "R" in small or larger groups so save money. The "A" pre-charcoal filters come in large sheets per unit size and can be ordered in groups to also save money. The ease of use is clear and concise. Buttons you push to change speeds. There is even a projection of speeds against a clear plastic border around the top the unit to permit easy visual of the speed and filter cleanliness.Easy to lift and use, much lighter and less cumbersome from the old design and units. 50 % less noisy than older units except when on high. All previous and current units make a bit of noise on high. We did our research and though skeptical at first, after we ordered the larger unit HPA 5300B, we ordered a second smaller unit. HPA 5200.Coolest thing when registering the unit with Honeywell, they only ask for a number code on the plug of the unit. That is the serial number.Takeaways:1. Upgraded, quieter than previous models2. Filters are interchangeable depending on unit size. That is huge and filters are a snap to replace3. Blends in with furnishings4. Value for the product5. Easier to lift than previous models6. Considerable differences in design vs previous models for the better7. A value all around, including dusting less and cleaner air8. NO odor and perfect for my asthma and allergies

So far, the best purifier I've found for the best price.
Several family members are very sensitive to the pollen around here and it triggers their asthma; so I've been using a couple of the smaller versions of this one from Honeywell. But finally saved enough to get this big one, with three HEPA filters plus the very useful prefilter. It is not at all noisy, especially if you run it on auto, which is a great feature. This one is black and since it is in the great room where everyone can see it, it is an added bonus that it is so nice looking. I will update if it disappoints me in future months, but so far, it has been money well spent, and there have been no respiratory problems so far.As I wrote earlier on the review for the smaller version, Honeywell's customer service has been firsat class, with real, intelligible human beings that are genuinely helpful and kind.I would recommend (in fact I have recommended) Honeywell's Insight Hepa Air Purifier to anyone who is interested.

PRICELESS!
Moved from CA wildfire-ville and brought my HP300 with me to my real home in West Virginia. LOVE it. Bought a cat, that, of course, I'm allergic to so I bought a 2nd HP300. Worst allergy season I can recall and I had no trouble in investing in HP5300, their latest model. Takes the same type/# of filters as HP300 but is SILENT on lowest mode (24/7) and quite tolerable on higher levels as required. Fighting the urge to just donate my first two and get two more of the latest model. (Stay tuned!)The previous owner had an illegal # of cats in her house, particularly the basement forever. I won't go into detail but MUST say, to surprise, an HP300 on lowest level (24/7) worked itself OVERTIME. I haven't smelled (old) cat odors down there much at all. THEN, time came for the annual HEPA filter change and.... WOW! I wondered where the cat stink went? It was solidly collected as particles arrested in the 3 HEPA filter cartridges! I mean, THEY smelled HORRIBLE! Wiped things down for my benefit and fitted it out with HW replacement filters and I expect they'll deal as efficiently with the rest. All of those stinky microparticles arrested and thrown OUT of my house. I LOVE THESE HEPA filters AND, as a retired board-certified (3 Fields) RN, I HIGHLY recommend them.

Also A Nightlight
First, I want to start by saying I love this air purifier. It does a great job in keeping our bedroom air clean and has been a great help for my allergies. The replacement filters are a little expensive, but that is true with most quality air purifiers. I have two issues with this purifier that I don't love. First, the clear plastic piece on the back of the top lights up, which highlights how cloudy it gets. A few weeks after I got it it started looking cloudy and I tried to clean it, but haven't found anything that does a good job. Second is that there is no way to get all of the lights to turn off on it. On the control panel there is a light bulb button that will allow you to change the brightness of the controls and indicator, but when you turn them off the lightbulb button itself stays on. Because I have this in the bedroom I find that incredibly annoying and have to keep a cloth on top of it to block the light. I'm not sure that manufacturers know this, but not every single device in our homes should also be a nightlight!
