Idk it was a gift that I sent to my granddaughter. My daughter said it had a battery in it so it was working.

Yes, the cart comes with a small hand held vacuum and you may purchase a larger vacuum separately. My Grandson has both and absolutely loves them. The large vacuum operates with C size batteries and has a small drawer to catch the things|lint the vacuum picks up.
