Products 80051 A-Frame Straight Coupler Fits 2" Ball

My boat trailer had popped off the ball with my old coupler so I wanted to try one of different design. Luckily, I was only travelling 5 miles per hour and the damage was minimal. If this had happened on the freeway, things would have been quite different. This one is holding the trailer to the ball very well. I did add a stainless steel bolt to the roller pin to make it stronger. And I've noticed that it is necessary to remove all tension between the vehicle and the trailer to allow the coupler to be removed from the ball.

I have about 15 trailers that use this type of coupler. From heavy use eventually I need to replace my couplers, no matter how many times I have my employees grease them eventually they will wear through. but over the years have put at least eight to ten of these on my trailers after the original ones failed. So far they all seem to work great. Would highly recommend.

Holes didn't quite line up with that of a standard hitch, had to drill out a bit, the latch is extremely tight when on a 2" ball almost need to pound it open and closed. Not the quality you would expect.

Bought this coupler for a 2" ball, fitting onto a 2.5" tongue. Very smooth operation - better than the one which came with the splitter. Wish Amazon would describe the item better or have a table so all the Atwood couplers could be listed, making the final choice much easier.
