On my boxes and says nothing about russia it says made in China figures

Yes, it performs as a clock when not in play mode. The battery will drain down in about a day when not playing. I just leave mine with the charger connected, sitting on the table.

Yes, you can save your progress, I believe there are 3 save slots. Although, when restarting from a save, you do start in the original starting zone, not where you were when you saved, but you will have all your items, rupees, dungeon progress, etc.
