This leather strop is well built and has thick leather on each side so it should last for a long time. It comes with a smooth and rough side so you can strop any burs off and clean the blade as well. It included 5 compounds of varying fineness for any specific needs of the person using it. The design of it is compact enough to travel as needed and includes handle for holding it steady. Works great for my EDC knives and the few kitchen knives I've tried. I went straight to diamond emulsion on both sides of this strop and it works well. The only complaint I have is the leather is not completely uniform. However, it's hard to get this much gear for this price, so I put 5-stars. Note that the smooth side is quite hard and the rough side has more give. The leather measures at about 8" x 2.2"

Overall this is a very nice strop especially for the price. The smooth side is very nice and works great.. however the only downside is the " rough" side is Definitely far from being rough and doesn't seem to work like a veg tanned leather rough side should and will probably end up just peeling that side off and putting a strip of higher quality leather on it .but for 20 bucks you cant go wrong!

The wood has a good finish. The leather is thick and of great quality. The handle makes it easy to hold.Using it is easy. Just slide the knife edge 5/10 times on each side of the edge, first on the rough leather side, then repeat the same on the smooth side. You'll get a really sharp knife every time, it works fantastically.

Pretty heavy duty quality. I like that comes with different compounds and the leather seems like it's going to last a very long time. Definitely much better than I anticipated.
