The first moth I had my new phone I dropped it on the kitchen floor and the back cracked. I tried taping it but the tape did not stay on & the cracked glass came through, and I was afraid I would get cut. This was not covered by insurance because it was the back glass. It cost $275 to replace the back glass. So I looked for cases and I found this one. The ring is sturdy and allows me to hold the phone comfortable while I'm talking. I have dropped the phone a million times on the kitchen floor and on concrete, with the face hitting the floor and/or the back hitting the floor, and not a scratch on it! This is the absolute best case for my Galaxy Flip Phone! I got it in purple so the outside rim matches my phone, and I love it. I'm going to buy a second case just to have a spare.

** Update 9/21/23: I had just washed my hands and grabbed my phone and it slipped out of my hands and crashed to the floor. The hinge broke off and the corner of it broke off, but my phone was completely spared. I would much rather replace the case, than the entire phone!Original Review: I had a case very similar to this, but it had no hinge protection. I am on my 3rd Flip 4 and hope nothing happens to this one. My first phone fell 2 feet out of my pocket on the hinge and the screen broke. My second phone had a hinge protector, but fell 2 feet out of my hand, broke the hinge and the screen. My case similar to this one, with no hinge protection was nice, but I could not charge it wireless with the case on and I wanted the hinge protection. Ughhh.When I got my 3rd phone, I found this case and I love it. My phone will charge wireless, the hinge is protected, it is easy to hold and just what I wanted. It was a little difficult to initially get on my phone I had to undo the hinge because it wouldn't slide enough to get my phone on. I figured it all out, got the case on my phone and all has been well since. I have dropped my phone out of my hand 2 feet and it stayed safe. Phew!

Okay, so I loved 2 features of this case: the carabiner ring mounted on the hinge and the hinge protector for all the obvious reasons. The ring is great when holding it while open, clipping to belt loop, and ESPECIALLY attaching it to the ring on my scooter's bottle holder so that I can change the song/volume while listening to tunes as I ride around town without having to reach around to my right earbud with my left hand ( my right hand needed on the throttle), making for a safer ride. And the hinge protection bc... yep, u guessed it! Bc it protects that fragile hinge. Now, for the only REAL con/design flaw that I noticed ( which is, unfortunately, a pretty FATAL FLAW!):I received the case on May 30th and dropped it only one time on June 22nd from a height of less than 2 FEET onto probably 20+ yr old, linoleum flooring. It happened to land on the corner where the hinge protector attaches to the case and that part snapped right off. Now, considering that the whole point of a phone case is to protect your phone when dropped, this case DEFINITELY DID IT'S JOB! But, I believe that a case should be made to serve its purpose MORE THAN ONCE b4 you are forced to chuck it in the garbage (CHUCK IT???? I JUST BOUGHT IT!!!), & resort to crawling back 2 Amazon to spend $16+ on yet ANOTHER DISPOSABLE case. So, IF YOU STILL PLAN TO PURCHASE THIS CASE after reading this review, WORD TO THE WISE: If it breaks THIS EASILY when dropped from such a short height onto such a rubbery surface, you may want to be careful even setting it down on a table for fear of it shattering under your fingertips!!! YMMV....

✅️pros- i don't feel scammed, Cute case, very slim. nice firm grippy rubber around the edges. Good for holding and shock absorbment. Took a decent amount of tumbles. Orange color was more salmon colored but I loved it. Volume button protector ❤️ amount of color is tasteful, just wish it came in different color options like yellow, green, aqua, glitter.❌️cons- 1 drop on the corner of the hinge protector and it shattered. Copper Ring plating wore off after 2.5 months (as expected) hinge cover cracks at ring attachment if youre not gentle/carry it by the ring. Why no power button protector?

I love it! It's so cute! It's a single piece, so it doesn't shift around like other cases for the flip. I like that it has some hinge protection. I don't know how durable it will be, but I'm pretty safe with my phone!

Update. 3 days after the return window ended. The center part of the cover completely snapped apart.Fits phone perfectly. The ring is a little weird to get use to when it's closed but also makes carrying it a breeze. So far only had small drops and nothing happened.
