Love, love, love
This product is amazing. I tried a few other products and always had either constant drop outs or dead zones. II have no idea why people had problems settings this up in the reviews. It is step by step via your phone easy to follow instructions. I was able to set up 3 units in 30 mins and now the whole house, back yard and front have wifi with no dead zones even though I have a large brick house. I now have super fast wireless / flawless internet. High price for flawless wifi, but it is worth every penny.

Orbi 960 (Renewed)
Item looked fresh new, preforms as good as new. I'm getting 800-960 on Wi-Fi everywhere in my 3100 sqf home and 250-390 outside around my pool area. Very satisfied with this unit. Was very easy to install.

DO NOT BUY NETGEAR GARBAGE
Follow up after 2+ years: Purchased this mesh network in April 2023 and it turned out to be *BY FAR* the worst electronics purchase I made in my 57 year lifetime. Managing this setup is difficult because the app is alpha level stable and the web interface is limited in function. Devices regularly (multiple per day) disconnect and are a struggle to get reconnected. The satellites don't even maintain connectivity to the main router and yes, they are positioned on separate floors 30-40 feet apart. If this setup didn't cost so much I would have trashed it long ago. Netgear make horrible hardware and apps. Their support is abysmal. I'm done. I hate the money wasted but I've spent more time than that supporting this trash system. DO NOT BUY NETGEAR GARBAGE.Original Review: I am a 25+ year IT professional by trade and this was my first venture into a mesh WiFi setup so I wanted to get the best available at the time. I am almost a year in and overall disappointed. Given the cost, I expected a stable, fast and problem free experience. Orbi has did not deliver that.A few months ago our entire house with 50+ WiFi devices lost connectivity all at once. After some troubleshooting I discovered the Orbi wasn't handing out DHCP addresses. I hard wired to the main Orbi device and all I could get was 169.254.x.x addresses. I had to factory reset the Orbi. That resolved the DHCP issue but even restoring a recent firmware meant going around to many of the smart devices and resetting or reconnecting them.Since getting the Orbi setup I had issues getting some smart devices connected and staying connected. My main computer regularly disconnects and takes repeated attempts to get it back on WiFi. I added an expensive Netgear Nighthawk A7000 USB adapter to solve this problem. It did not. This morning (prompting this review) it connects but doesn't have Internet. In addition to the problems above the Orbi web management portal is limited and slow and the Orbi app is buggy and slow. I haven't been able to access the Orbi remotely (Anywhere Access) in months.TL;DR - The money spent on this Orbi system has not been a good investment in money or time. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Almost top of the line in 2024.
OverviewThis Orbi 960 system includes one router node and two satellite nodes that link supposedly up to cover roughly 9,000 square feet of terrain with WiFi connectivity. This router provides access to typical WiFi bands, but WiFi 6E hardware inside can access the newly available (and decidedly less crowded) 6GHz band.Netgear’s subscription-based security service offers in-depth safety features and network protection for a monthly price.ProsExtremely fast and reliable coverage over a large area thanks to 12 internal antennasBroadcasts on the 6GHz band for devices that can access itAttractive design appearanceOffers a fast wired connection thanks to 10Gbps WAN and 2.5Gbps LAN ports, which are uncommon on home routersEasily expandable with extra nodes using 2 different connection types. Satellite can connect direct to hub or in daisy chain for more linear applications.Netgear Armor provides solid subscription-based security that’s easy to manageEasy to set up, considering its advanced natureConsVery expensiveOnly a limited number of devices currently support 6GHz but more are always coming.Netgear Armor software requires a monthly subscription.Verdict:Netgear’s 960 series WiFi system offers some of the fastest and most flexible wireless coverage available, thanks to its advanced hardware and robust software. The 9000 sq from coverage is wide open area. In a house, I'd give it more like 4500 Sq ft if strategically placed in optimal spots. Or maybe they include sub optimal signal strength in their 9000 calculation

Difficult to Use
If you just want to plug in a high speed, high capacity, large area system and have it work, then you'd probably love this. It's quick & easy to setup and seemed to work well. If that's what you want, then 5 stars. BUT...If you want to use it for a guest network (or other subnets), forget it. I couldn't use the app to setup a guest network. The Netgear website directed me to another website to setup the guest network. Accessing the website worked intermittently. Sometimes, the webpage would be directed to the Netgear website, sometimes the intended website would open. Once logged in on the correct website, the only thing I could do was reset my password - no other functionality available. After screwing around with trying to set this thing up using both at the Orbi app and the website, I gave up & returned it.PS - the only other function I tried was the Internet speed test. It only gave the speed for the router, not the device.PPS - the app wasted my offering me a router/internet security subscription and a tech support subscription. I don't like having to pay them on a monthly basis for the system they dsold me to be secure, but I understand that's the market. I especially resent not getting any tech support on a tech device without paying extra, a monthly fee forever.
