Bought to be used in a Weber Smokey Mountain
I bought this water pan to be used in my 18.5" Weber Smokey Mountain. I have an older WSM that came with the dinky water pan that holds about 1 gallon of water, I believe it's the lid from a Weber Smokey Joe grill (their small kettle). The original water pan really puts a blemish on the operating ability of the WSM as you constantly will be topping off the water in the pan every 3-4 hours. If you are doing a long cook such as a 12+ pound brisket this can be a bit of an annoyance.Luckily, the Brinkmann part fits into the 18.5" WSM like it was designed specifically for it! Fits better than the original pan and holds double the amount of water.

Using in 18” WSM as replacement water pan
As others have stated, works great, doesn’t impede charcoal access, holds a lot of water. Some mentioned the pan felt flimsy, I had no issue holding water or doubt regarding the lip holding up with the weight of a full pan.A little pricey, but worth the price of admission if you want to run water and access charcoal.

Three Stars
A little larger than I expected but it works as a water pan for my smoker

Unconventional Solution
The bottom bowl of my solar water fountain kept leaking, and despite repeated efforts, I've yet to locate the source of the leak. Since wasting water isn't an option in my drought prone area, I needed a solution so I could continue to enjoy my fountain. This smoker pan fit perfectly against the cast iron frame of the fountain so if you didn't know it wasn't part of the original design, you'd never know. My tiered clay pots drain in a happy little cascade into it and I think the metal adds a bit of extra resonance to the sound of falling water. Might not be what Brinkmann intended for its design, but suits my requirements.

A GREAT Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5" Replacement Water Bowl!
Great replacement for the water bowl on the Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5" (WSM) smoker. It fits the 18.5 WSM as though it was made for it. This bowl having a shallower bottom leaves additional space for the charcoal/hardwood fuel area, it holds about 1 gallon of water, and with a large wide HD Aluminium foil, it's pretty easy to "wrap" the bowl to make post cook cleaning easier. Fuel manipulation during the cook from the side door on the WSM is easier since it does not protrude down as much as the standard Weber water bowl.Overall construction is a 4 of 5, and I'm confident I'll get 3-4 years out of it. Make sure to take off the labels and give it a good wipe down before using it the first time.

Works great
Works great! I use it in my Weber Smoky Mountain 18.5” smoker. It’s not as deep as the original pan, which frees up some room for more charcoal. With the original pan, I could get enough lump charcoal in the smoker to last about 7 hours at 225-250. With this pan I can get enough in to last closer to 9 hours without needing to add any. And it still holds plenty of water. Good product.

It's a very good quailty water pan replacement for WSM.
Kinda pricey, but I'm hoping it will last for many years. It's the perfect size for WSM water pan.

Works if you re-engineer!
This is durable, but it has no ventilation to allow for even burning of charcoal. Burns so slowly that heat levels are not achieved. I had to drill multiple holes in it to create the desired draft. If you’re okay with having to re-engineer to make it work properly, then this is a some what suitable solution.
