I didn't know much about embroidery when I purchased this, but now that I've been able to watch the videos while doing the stitches, I'm having a blast. Having said that, I'll add if you're a beginner like me, follow the instructions to the letter, and don't skip the steps (especially in the floss preparation). I just wish the amount of floss that comes with the kit would adequately cover the amount lost to screwing up and having to rip out stitches. I completely ran out of one color of floss on the first sampler, and wouldn't you know, that color predominates the second sampler. So I had to find a comparable color by googling the number on the floss table, and that came up with a color number that was just about the same. Thankfully I had that color in my possession already. I'm looking forward to doing the next 2 samplers. It' a great way to stay out of the hot sun.

This is the absolute best way to learn how to do embroidery! Not only is the kit beautiful, the YouTube video gives clear, step-by-step instructions for every single step. It is the perfect kit for a beginner who has never picked up a needle before.

Part of what appealed to me was the fact that there were instructional videos on YouTube that go along with the kit. Don't expect help from the "instructional videos". They are just videos where you watch someone embroidering without any instructions - just royalty free music playing in the background. No idea how they get from one spot to another or what is going on in the back of the piece. If they showed the whole process it might help, but they dont. All of a sudden they will be on a new part and they didn't show you how they got there. Did they make a knot? If so, how. Did they travel up the back (it wasn't too far, so maybe?) Who knows? The kit itself is nice and I think there are enough other videos on YouTube to teach yourself, but I liked the idea of basically learning along to my actual kit. Oh well. At least the patterns are really pretty.

I have done hand work for many many years, but as time went on, I got more involved and whatever the popular craft of the year was I still did cruel embroidery kits and candle wicking, but switched to more paper crafts for quite a few years. Jewelry making has been a passion And was very intricate since I have aged my hands are just not as adapt with tiny jewelry findings, and tools, so was becoming a little frustrated. I remembered all of them many many things I’ve embroidered in my early years and found that I could find tutorials online that really peaked my interest. I love this box from the moment I saw it, but thought it was a bit pricey. I did catch it on sale and immediately purchased it. It’s a very nicely printed tutorial, and a reminder of how basic and not so basic the stitches should be made to come out as beautifully as possible. I’m very very pleased. Not sticking 100% to their color scheme going off on my own a little bit there with my practice stitches, but who cares?

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I don’t write many reviews but wanted to encourage others out there who have no prior embroidery experience that you definitely can learn how to embroider.

Accompanying videos and instas are fantastic. Very detailed instructions for embroidery in general as well as specific to kits. Great colors and patterns. These kits are alot of fun.

I’m very excited about using this sadly when I got it, it didn’t come with the thread. Which in the description it says it comes with thread by the time I got it I wasn’t able to run to the store before it closed to get any thread so sadly I couldn’t start using it. I’m excited about it and the possibilities I’m trying to find some new hobbies other than that it seems to be a pretty decent kid, but I would be careful when ordering because it may not come with everything that you need.

this is the most complete kit I have ever purchased. The instructions are perfectly detailed and beautifully done. I will certainly buy more and plan to purchase more as gifts for my younger adult grandaughters.thanks !!!
