It closes the umbrella as well. Wow. Gave me a little shock there. Lol

I bought this more to keep the sun off than for rain. We attend a lot of baseball games and usually take a larger umbrella, but it seems like I'm always somewhat in the sun and i get burned. I've only used it once, so far, but it did exactly what I needed it to - kept the sun off the parts of me the other umbrella couldn't.
