Beautiful soap from the Sub Continent!
It's probably 30 years since I last used genuine Indian Sandal wood soap. This is really lovely. I was a tad worried about some of the reviews, especially when I looked at the images of various sellers to find the same basic soap box with an 'exclusive', 'premium' and 'superior' - is there a difference in quality with each of these banners? The one I bought was 'exclusive' and arrived within 48 hours of ordering, which (even though the seller was in Leicester) I thought was pretty fast work. The soap? Gorgeous. I'm half way through it now and it is keeping both its scent and its shape, which is more than can be said for many Brit soaps.Yes it's quirky (its imprinted with 'government soap works etc..'but it's very very nice soap. I'm on a bit of a mission now to explore all those banners on different boxes to see if there really is a difference. I'll report back for everyone accordingly. In the meantime...I hope this helped!

Not as strong scented as some.
Bought this soap because I loved the Morny Sandalwood soap and it’s not available now. This is a nice soap.

An Indian classic
I spent six weeks backpacking around India in the early 1990s, and I found this soap everywhere - particularly around the southern city of Mysore, which seemed to be the centre of the sandalwood industry. I bought a bar as a souvenir and kept it safe (as it was hard to find in the UK before the internet), and it still smells the same now as it did then. This is a genuine Indian product so it's not subtle - it's strong, sweet and woody, and lathers nicely in our hard water area. I will be buying more of the same.

Fine smell...but...
This soap has a lovely smell. I arrived in a crunched box and both sides and edges of the soap were crunched too leaving bits of crushed soap in the packet. Looks unsightly and didn't expect it to look so damaged as if it has been around the block a few times. Hope now that it does its job as it is expensive for the small size bar this is. Don't think I will be ordering it again.

Smells nice, but that's about it.
Expensive for what it is. Very average soap. Works fine, smell/perfume about average. I expected more depth to the smell, something more intense and luxurious. But it's really very ordinary for the price.
