So many reviews are just wrong — read the description and instructions folks. ##### Updated #####
UPDATE:-3 MONTHS ON . . . PURRRRRFECT!2 cars — engine compartments — plagued by mice damage! Today (06:07:21) everything still exactly as setup in March. The badly damaged areas where I put the anti-rodent tape & spiral cable tidy (as repair and protection) and then sprayed . . . completely untouched. Other areas that I sprayed . . . untouched i.e no NEW damage.AND still loads in tin for another really good spray in 2 or 3 months time.Ecstatic with the result is an understatement!###### original review ######Quite simply you spray it on surfaces that rats and mice are chewing on. To rats and mice it tastes awful . . . they stop chewing . . . damage stops. It is not a deterrent to make them stay away, it is not a poison to kill them and spraying this product all over the place to keep them away is pointless!I bought this for two vehicles where we are getting rodent damage to the hoses and wiring in the engine compartment. This product is not expensive — I did both vehicles with more than enough left over to do them again in 6 months time.Note: I first sprayed the damaged cables . . . I then used plastic spiral cable tidy (various sizes bought on Amazon) to cover the damaged areas of wiring and then sprayed the cable tidies! I did try Anti rodent rats & mice electrical deterrent insulation tape . . . which was expensive for a very small quantity added to which it had poor adhesion (not self-amalgamating) and started to unravel within a week!

It works (For now).
I get a rat in my kitchen once or twice a year. They find their way in under the house and come out through a hole cut behind the dishwasher for a water meter.I always leave a couple of bait blocks behind there, but these lose their effectiveness over time so still need to be replaced. In addition I have the plugin sonic alarms to keep them from the living room. After the most recent visit where a rat started chewing through a kitchen cabinet at 2am, I looked for additional resource to try and keep them out and found this spray.I put it on cotton wool balls and push them into all the entry points and behind the sink unit. They've been down for a few weeks now and so far I've not heard any scratching or seen any rats. So on that basis I give it cautious approval.

Mice eating my car!
I've had a problem with mice chewing the cables in the engine compartment of my car. So far this seems to be helping.

The rats Love it!
Followed instructions to the letter. Observed the rats through my window, licking the bits where I sprayed, then coming back for more. Not sure what I was thinking by purchasing this product, but the rats sure appreciate the new/fresh smell that I have played all around their stomping ground. Complete utter waste of money. again, I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. Out of desperation, I had to revert to the old fashioned mechanical traps with bait.I think the rats thought I was just offering them some aromatherapy solution, as they do look very happy.DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY...

EASY TO USE - SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED!
We purchased this following visits from rats to our bird tables. We wanted to use a humane solution too.We sprayed fencing panels where we thought they were entering (having filled a tunnel up) the can was enough to spray 4 fence panels about 1 metre square each. Smelled strong. No real way of knowing if it was that which solved the problem - but they've gone.
