Birchwood Presto Black STEEL PC9 Technologies - versatile blackening solution for iron and steel alloys traditional patina steel blue and black oxide touch-up (8 oz)

Worked very well. I sand blasted my Jeep’s bumper hardware first per directions and the black oxide solution worked quickly to attach to all the nuts, bolts and washers I soaked in it. I then sealed them as recommended by soaking in WD40. Only time will tell how the coating holds up to the elements but I’m optimistic based on the thickness of the coating.

Works perfectly if you do it right

I used this to darken a cold blue finish....that turned out actually bright blue. Got it to more of a really dark gray color. SO, for my purpose this did ok. It goes on very "Splotchy" but smooths out over multiple applications if you APPLY it lightly with 000 steel wool as the only applicator.

good size, outstanding results see picture, and the price is right....also remember this won't work on stainless steel!
