While I did indeed take the warranty claims into heavy consideration before taking a chance and buying these gloves, all I can tell you is that my experience with these gloves has been extensive and very positive. They have handled hundreds of hours of use, with very little wear. No splits, rips, or disappointments of any kind. I feel like I have already gotten my money's worth out of these gloves, and I can tell they still have a very long lifespan ahead. I don't know how to explain the supposed difference in quality for other buyers; I can only speak for my own purchase experience, which has been totally positive.

Do gloves run true to size?

I bought these for my 10 year old son. I bought a small. They fit very well and have some stretch. My son is 4'10 and 90lbs so I feel that they run true to size. He has a little room to grow into them.

Are these good safety gloves for chain saws? Reciprocating saws?

Ummmm... Hubby really likes them. They do fit tight and have a good grip. But if I were your loved one I would highly recommended a Kevlar set of gloves.
