I'm a little late to this party - I have the original HoverAir X1, which has served me well. I upgraded to the X1 Pro, with the combo package that includes 2 extra batteries, the charger, and the 65w wall wart; and the Controller Combo, which has the beacon and two joysticks in a case.The HoverAir X1 Pro can fly higher and further than the original X1, but retains all the easy to use features. With the beacon and joysticks, it can be flown like a traditional drone, but still using the ease of launch and retrieve on the palm of your hand. Battery life is improved with the "smart" batteries, lasting up to 16 minutes. The beacon and joysticks connect quickly. If you choose to, you can also use your phone through the Hover app to control on Manual Mode.The X1 Pro has a built in cage surrounding the props - it is flexible and durable. The price is higher than the original X1, but the added features and capabilities are well worth the price - this is a camera drone that will get more use, because it is easy to use.

Thank you!As much as I LOVE this drone I will sadly have to leave this feedback. We used in for weeks and loved every second of it. The app is easy to use and the drone follows you and has so many cool features. I bought this drone because of the collision detection and I just retuned from Costa Rica and Mexico and was hoping for some stunning aerial shots.What ended up happening was we started our very first drone shot series and turned on the drone and set it to follow mode. It followed my wife down a dock that had small wooden poles sticking up from the sides, as dachshund peers usually do so that they can float or fall as the tide comes in or out. She was lightly jogging down this pier and with the drone filling and facing forward directly, slammed into one of these poles and dropped into the ocean. I immediately took it out and used distilled water to read, submerge it, and then took it out and had a fan on it for two days. It gave me hope because it would tell me the battery percentage of whatever battery I put in and then start to load the software, but it never completely finished loading and it didn’t work for the entire trip.So I thought that this company was reputable and would answer my questions or give me some kind of feedback regarding the warranty or some way to ship it to them to get fixed or whatever the case might be. I sent multiple emails from Mexico and Costa Rica with no reply. I got back to the states and called them. It goes straight to voicemail and you are asked to leave your information which I have and again they will not reach out to me.To add insult to injury, I was bragging up this drone so much that two of my friends even bought them and after hearing what happened, one of them returned his to Amazon within the return window. It’s too bad because I assumed it was a great product, but the way that this company has been treating me just trying to get some answers from them has been really unprofessional and unethical. I feel. So buyer beware!
