SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO Dual Drive - Up to 1,000MB/s, USB Type-C, and USB Type-A, High-Performance Flash Drive - SDDDE1-1T00-G46

This drive is certainly bigger and heavier than most drives. That being said, it is exceptionally fast and capacious. I get speeds of over 800 megabytes (not megabits!) per second. It works well on mac and PC and feels high quality. It does heat up, but doesn't seem to overheat. One downside is that only the USB C or the USB A ports are covered, but not both.I do recommend this drive, it's built well, fast, and large. I would recommend splurging on the higher capacity models as I feel like that makes more sense for a drive like this, but it depends on what you need from it. I would recommend waiting for a sale of at least below $160 which seems to happen frequently for this drive.

The SanDisk 2TB Extreme PRO Dual Drive USB is an absolute beast of a flash drive. It’s a bit bulkier than the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe, but with 2TB of storage and up to 1000MB/s speeds, the added size makes sense—and honestly, it’s still pocketable and sleek enough. In my disk speed tests, it consistently hits around 800MB/s read/write, and real-world large file transfers confirm those numbers. It’s super fast, and noticeably runs cooler than the Luxe, which is a nice bonus during long copy sessions.While the Luxe is already a fantastic drive, this model feels like a step up across the board. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but when you consider that this little USB stick offers performance and storage on par with my Samsung T7 2TB SSD—at a similar price point—it’s pretty amazing. I got this at $149 during Springs Sale btw.Highly recommended if you want high-speed, high-capacity portable storage in a compact form. Totally happy with this purchase.

I recently purchased this 2TB USB drive and couldn’t be more satisfied. The build quality is solid, and the data transfer speed is consistently fast, making it perfect for both backups and daily file transfers. Plug-and-play functionality worked seamlessly on multiple devices, and the generous 2TB capacity provides ample space for high-resolution videos, large project files, and more.

Surprisingly fast, much larger than most USB flash drives. I find a lot of drives slow down when in use, likely from overheating. This does not seem to be an issue but the drive is 3-4 times larger than a regular USB flash drive. Still smaller than an external SSD however. I have one on my ID lanyard, I move a lot of large files, and there is no issues.

Fast transfer, but it does get very hot very fast when mounted on my phone. Not on my PC though.

I first tried this 512GB USB drive in my USB A hub - hubs don't have enough power to handle this fast of a drive, kept disconnecting. So I tried it directly into the USB A on the back of my 2019 iMac and WOW - 400 writes and 400 reads. So then I decided to plug it into one of my iMac USB C ports - Double WOW - 800+ writes and 800+ reads - amazing. Hope it lasts....

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have used many of the SanDisk iXpand devices previously, and they work great for backing up older iPhones such as the the iPhone13. This "new" model with the USB-C for the iPhone16 was not even recognized by the phone. It is recognized by a laptop using Windows, so the device seems to be working; but it is not recognized by the iPhone using the SanDisk "Memory Zone" app. Not sure if it's a dud or a terrible design, but this is a huge step backwards from the older iXpand devices that worked reliably for the prior iPhone versions. Advice to SanDisk, Don't fix what isn't broken.
