Good value
These are excellent walkies, especially for under $20.Got these to use on camping trips where we don't have any cell service. I easily got 1/2-3/4 of a mile of range in a wooded area. Didn't test them at ranges further than that but at those ranges the audio was still extremely clear and easy to hear.Adjusting the various settings can be slightly confusing. Using the included manual, it took me maybe 10 minutes to adjust everything I wanted and set up several channels with privacy codes. The included rechargeable battery life is excellent. Having used them over period of 4 days they are still showing full charge. The option to also run on AA's is great if you're going to be off grid with no means to recharge. The volume goes way higher than I can foresee needing (which isn't a bad thing) They are perfectly audible on the lowest 1-3 volume settings, at least in an environment without a lot of background noise. They are light weight and the belt clip is well designed/works great with good retention.Overall exceeded expectations and worked flawlessly.

Great product.
Works great. We use when on hikes and bike rides with the children.

Good value for the money; supplied batteries are weak.
These are sturdy and functional FRS radios without any unnecessary frills. However, my first set (factory sealed) came with batteries that wouldn't charge. The replacement set (returned through Amazon, not the manufacturer) had discharged yet chargeable batteries. The batteries self-discharge (with the radios off) much quicker than any of my many lithium-ion batteries; it seems like weak batteries were spec'ed as a cost-cutting measure.

Great value
They are nice radios and a good value for $20. The manual is detailed, but may be hard to follow for someone unfamiliar with the technology. They are a little loud-even at the low volume level, so a headset may be desirable in some situations. I have tested them only out to about 1/4 mile so far through some tree cover. They appear to do fine. For some reason, the weather radio and privacy codes do not appear to be working, but I have not spent much time testing them, and they are not critical functions for me.

Decent for basic camping but nothing serious
Worked at our camping trip when heading out to the store a mile or two in wooden and mountainous terrain. Although radio quality was deteriorating the farther away it was expected and still usable. These operate on a different radio coding system than Motorolas but are still usable in between them. And have more privacy if needed.

Not Long Range, Poor Quality, Waste of Money
Very disappointed with these walkie talkies. The so-called “long range” is nowhere near what’s advertised—you can barely get a clear signal even a few hundred feet away. The sound is static-filled and cuts in and out, making communication frustrating. Battery life isn’t great either, even though they claim to be rechargeable and long-lasting. Cheaply made and not reliable at all. Definitely not worth the money.

Objectionable audio
The volume is loud even at its lowest level. When I first turned it on it made a very loud noise. It has no volume control knob, instead you must access the volume control in a menu. Transmit power is not adjustable. The batteries lose their charge quickly without the radio being on. I like Radioddity FRS radios better.
