The best Batman series.
What more can be said? This series is the epitome of what a good Batman series should be, animated or not along with having greatest Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy. (may he rest in peace)

The Blu-ray version is Fantastic!!!
At last, the classic 'Batman: The Animated Series' from the 1990's is available in full High-Definition - and it looks and sounds superb. This Blu-ray edition is deluxe: it features a sturdy and glossy outer box, within which is housed a book-like case that holds the discs. All four seasons of the show are included, totalling 109 episodes. Additionally there's loads of bonus material - most importantly, two full-length feature films (also in HD): 'Mask of the Phantasm' and 'SubZero'. There are many, many hours of featurettes - exploring the history, production and influence of the show. This series serves as the foundation of the wider DC animated universe. It was conceived by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, and significantly contributed to by Paul Dini. Batman is brilliantly voiced by Kevin Conroy; and the Joker by Mark Hamill. This show received its own original musical score - composed by Shirley Walker (inspired by Danny Elfman's music from the 1989 'Batman' film). This show was made using a 4:3 aspect ratio - so, unfortunately, it isn't presented in widescreen … Nonetheless, it still looks great. There are various language options: English, French, and Spanish. And subtitles are available in English and French. Note: although the item is described as offering a German language option, this is not available. There's a digital download code (which has to be used by the end of 2019), although you must use the Warner Bros. online system to activate this code. While this show is certainly child-friendly, it's nonetheless a favourite for adult fans of the Dark Knight. Indeed, for many (myself included) this is the best ever version of Batman … enjoy!

Beautiful Bats.
I was in two minds whether or not buy this Blu-ray edition, after reading reviews describing the image quality as too clean or vivid, losing it's grainy, filmic noir feel. I'll admit my decision was swayed by the addition of Mask of the Phantasm and Sub-Zero.I think I made the right choice. I've owned many episodes on VHS and dvd and have to say this is the most beautiful rendition of this near perfect animated series I've ever seen. Yes the colours pop, and it maybe loses a little of the grubby charm of older versions, but there are details I'd missed and it loses none of it's grim atmosphere. The sound is fantastic, the orchestration and soundtrack much more expansive. Yes, as others have commented, there are moments where the image blurs a little, but this was not enough to impair my enjoyment as a whole. As to the complaints of it not being 'upgraded' to wide-screen format, this is a misguided notion, as the original format this series was broadcast in was 4:3. Consider the fact, wide-screen TVs were not readily available when this show was first released. In those days, people use to complain about the 'letterbox' effect when watching wide-screen films. so there was never a 16:9 image to recover, and you can't just add to the sides of the picture, so I'm not sure what these people expect. In order to 'upgrade' these shows to 16:9 you would either have to stretch, or crop the image, either of which would be severely detrimental. Watch it in a dark room, you won't notice. In summary, rich immersive sound, and a stunning looking transfer (albeit a tad vibrant in colour) are a fitting representation of what must be one of the pinnacles of animated entertainment.

The pinnacle of Cartoon Animation
This series is outstanding and quite rightly deserves all the pluadits. I remember watching Batman The Animated Series from around the age of 5 or 6 in the early 90’s and it has to be considered the pinnacle of cartoon animation. The animation design is beautiful, writing is high quality (better than anything else around at that time and possibly still 25 years later), and the character voice work is perfect. Everything about this series is first class and the producers and writers clearly understood who Batman is and the world he inhabits. I’d heard whispers of Batman The Animated Series being released on Blu-ray format for years, but nothing came. Now it’s finally released in high definition Blu-ray format and it’s been worth the wait. The conversion quality really is outstanding and the work Warner Bros. and DC have put into this package is high class. It’s also great to see the box set packaging is something to treasure for life and contains the collection of 3 series, two feature length animations, and a whole host of extras. Don’t hesitate, buy it now! 10/10

Worth the wait! Fantastic!
Been waiting for this on blu-ray for years. The dvd complete collection used to be around £150.00 so getting this for under £40 was outstanding! The box is great and discs are securely held in place. The fact you get the animated films thrown in as well is a very nice bonus. Batman (of the future) Beyond will be next for sure. They just need to do the same with 1994 spider-man, X-Men, Hulk and the Gargoyles series and it would make a great collection of classics.
