Is it good for 12 years and up?

It says 4-8 years old. Your 12 year old might get bored and it might not challenge them enough. It is very helpful with math though.

How exactly do you get these on your existing leap frog twist?

You plug the leap frog twist into a computer using a USB cable and use the leapfrog software to install the games. The software in on their website and free to download. There is a code on a little card in the packaging you will need to add the game through the software.
