This is ALMOST as good as my homemade Southern fruitcake. I've looked and looked for a good quality fruitcake that came near what I tasted in the south at my friend's home. This is it! I'm no longer able to do my own baking. I'm happy with this excellent quality, tasting, and reasonably priced fruitcake.

Simply scrumptious as advertised. I really must discipline my taste buds to at least allow it to stick around for awhile. Very, very tasty - fruit chunks, surrounded with tender cake. Thanks a lot.

Dec 2024 update: Wrote this last year. They offered me a new cake which was much closer to the original. Thought maybe last years cake was a fluke but this year is even worse.Couldn't find any full pieces of fruit in it, eveeything is all chopped up. Switching to Collin St Bakery. Full nuts and fruits and the taste is REALLY close. Bye bye Swiss Colony!Have ordered Swiss cooking fruitcakes for over 30 years. I remember as a kid wanting ti get the slice that had a whole cherry, or the ones on top. No more. They might have some pieces in there somewhere but too only has candied pineapple chunks and can't find a whole cherry anywhere. And they are smaller. Yes to take an effort to remove the cake from the tin, or was in tight. This year I could stick my fingers in all round inside the room. What a shame!

Yes, I like fruitcake—GOOD fruitcake. But GOOD fruitcake is hard to find.-especially when you were spoiled by your Grandma’s, who made THE BEST & you thought they were all that good. The last couple of years, I’ve bought SEVERAL kinds, searching for a good one, only to toss them out. This year, I tried this one….I was very pleasantly surprised! I’ve bought Swiss Colony stuff before-don’t know why I never tried their fruitcake-well, except I’m the only fruitcake lover in our house. But,I saw it, tried it, got my husband & son to try it—and even they (who’ve always turned their noses up to fruitcake) liked it! That’s saying something!!

As always, the best fruit cake there is!!

I like it, but I have tasted better. Something is missing.
