Awesome for Picture Frames and Veneer
This Freud blade is phenomenal. I had read many reviews where customers were not happy with the finish left behind after completion of the cut. The Freud rating tree depicts the blade as moderate satisfaction for veneers on their comparison charts as well due to tooth rake. I have been framing a stretched canvas painting as a gift for our pastor. The frame material was 2 1/4" sloped walnut with inlaid marquetry on the entire length and the most expensive frame trim that I have ever bought. As a preliminary test I made an initial miter eliminating my normal process of using masking tape to protect the veneer. The blade produced a super smooth cut with no chipping of the marquetry and the miters joined up flawless. I finished out the entire frame without utilizing masking tape with a chip free perfect match up on the miters. Some of my cuts were less than a blade width thick as I matched up the lengths. I had zero issues with the blade and actually did not have to spend additional funds for a miter trimmer to shave the trim due to the smooth cuts. Even on a miter saw the primary issue with any tool is technique. Allowing the blade to remain down until it is done spinning is key for a smooth cut. The blade was accurate with zero burning and perfect accuracy. I have always loved Freud blades and bits. This further cements my loyalty to the Freud product line as my first choice when available. As a note: I returned the original blade because I accidentally ordered a 10" rather than a 12" blade. I ordered the correct 12" size immediately. You will not find a smoother saw blade,

Good Blade for Photo Frame Miters
I have a Dewalt basic chopsaw, about 8 years old. It's been used for all kinds of home repair. The blade I was replacing with this Freud 10" 60T was a Magna of the same spec, although it had a thinner kerf by a 1/32nd or so. That was burning my 3.5" maple miter cuts, so needed a new blade as I am making photo frames. This miter saw blade is complementing the Freud 8" Combination blade I bought for my old table saw that I am ripping the maple on. I considered getting a 10" Freud Combination blade for the mitersaw, but I am glad I got the crosscut 60T model with full kerf. I cut my first miters yesterday on 1-5/8th inch tall, 3/4" thick maple glued to 1-5/8ths wide, 1/2" poplar "float" frames -basically an L profile. The blade performs quite well, with no red rub off on the cut, very little bottom splinter -just a hairs worth on two cuts out of 8. I am saving enormously by not going to a frame shop to purchase 16 frames, so I justified the higher cost of this blade, than say, a Diablo, Makita or DeWalt blade of same tooth count. Any issue I have is only the 1/64th off perfect 45 degrees that is apparent when I glue up the full size (roughly 2-3/8ths) mitered corners of the frames. I chalk this up to my saw -it's hard to get it perfect with it's detent, etc. Whatever the case, the cuts are nearly flawless and I'm happy with it. I am old enough not to want the super thin kerf models to "save lumber." I just buy an extra foot. I think the thin kerf would flex. No broken teeth, good packaging. Delivered on time.

Freud VS. "The Gold Standard"
This blade among other Frued blades has the quality that seems unmatched by any others. Most people compare these to "the gold standard" - being a Forrest blade. In my personal opinion, after using both for 10+ years now:Frued seems to come out on top in cutting quality every time, but keep in mind, I am judging this by the manufacturers statements of exactly each blades intentions on the purpose it was built for. Frued makes this clear, says what types of wood, the type of cut, depth of cut, and even ideal saw HP. When I follow these guidelines, I find that Freud is unmatched. Glue ready, glass-like cuts. Not only that, they seem to even run quietest compared to others, and that's a plus too.Forrest blades - twice the price, but is it worth it? My experience is that the blades do have amazing quality, yet do not have nearly a descriptive range of what they are intended for. They do say what type of cut, and they also explain the blade is meant to be RAISED HIGHER for ideal cuts. They even come with a full walkthrough of how to eliminate tearout and friction burning. What they do not say is "meant for x type of woods of x height through x height and x HP saws" etc. I do find that I get amazing quality cuts overall, and the carbide teeth are of better long lasting quality than Freud has to offer. I have never chipped a tooth in a Forrest WW2, but I have in Freud multiple times. Also, Forrest will resharped and fix/balance the blades for their entire life, which says a lot!Overall; Freud seems to come out on top when using the exact purpose of the blade as described. They will not stand by their blades or resharpen or fix them, but do have amazing quality for price! Forrest also offer amazing cuts, back their blades for their lifetime, and have been put to the test for multiple decades.Either is a great choice, but Freud has the same if not better quality cuts for half the price, and less longevity.
