Hi my 1 month old storage box has just blown over in wind, and broken the corner of the "robust lid" is this replaceable ?

Possibly but not sure how much weight it can take or for how long. I don’t think I would recommend it, although it is reasonably sturdy.. I use it purely for storage in my shed so have never thought of it as a potential seat. In term of it’s length 2 people could fit on it.

Can someone tell me the usable height inside, ie with lid closed, I have a unit 55cms high to go inside

The short answer is NO your unit of 55cms will be too high - the inside of mine would be comfortable at 50cms high.
