For silver solder use
This stuff has worked well for me and I am a very early beginner. It seems to tolerate red to orange heat, way too much, very well.

Best hard solder flux!!
This is the best hard silver solder flux ever. There are some small tricks to using it, but is a need for those tough moments. Especially when the solder just will not flow or stick.
