Surprisingly, after posting the review & returning the item, the company reached out & offered to send me a replacement to try again free. This one worked great.So kudos for excellent customer service as well as a good product.Original review.....Arrive with foil cutter missing rivets. Did not care since I had others. But on the first 3 bottles of wine we tried to open (all different brands) on all three bottles it just pushed the cork into the bottle. Looks very similar to one I had for many years but did not work. Sending it back.

We have been happy owners of many more expensive lever style corkscrews for many years, including ones from Screwpull and Rabbit. We host backyard parties with plenty of wine. We have opened thousands of wine bottles. We like to try new looks and styles (and see if a competitor can do the same thing for a bit lower price), and eventually all lever style corkscrews when used enough will eventually break, so we needed a new one. This is our third try spanning many years with a Vinabon and unfortunately it will be our permanent last. The Vinabon is Defective by Design: it DOES NOT remove the cork from any wine bottle. On the first try of this order, a cork was partially removed, about 85% out of the bottle, but not fully removed (and the Vinabon stuck into it, so you had to either force-pull the last 15%, or twist remove the entire Vinabon from the cork and then use an actual functioning corkscrew). We've tried different levels of closing tightness on the outsides and starting downward pressures/latch/lock point on bottles, and no variations seem to change the outcome. We tried five different sizes/styles of bottles, all to no avail. Vinabon post-order customer service had been checking in by email and was extremely kind and helpful - they express shipped out a replacement, saying "once in a while a defective item slips through our quality control system. Maybe you received one of these rare mistakes, and we want to assure you that it is not typical of how this item normally performs." The second one was even worse, using the normal extraction method, the cork didn't budge at all - It stayed in place where it was inside the bottle and the worm went in, then in reverse, only the worm came right back out. We had previously tried the rose-gold side clamp levers (rather than vertical clamp half-cylinders), and had the same problem with that Vinabon as well. Vinabon simply does not get the cork out of wine bottles. Though we didn't buy this for the nice gift set box and the foil cutter, but just wanted to note that the foil cutter is also Defective By Design - on the very first usage, with a light touch, the pins holding the cutting blades all fell out when pulling up to lift off the cut lead/tin neck wrapper. Again Vinabon email customer service was fantastic - very helpful and responsive, and refunded our order in full without requiring us to ship anything back and did express "it is first time in all my history in this company, that we have some problem with replacement set too. I can assure you that we are working under improving of this model." However, it would appear that Vinabon is an attempt to reverse engineer earlier models in the market - and unfortunately the Vinabon design just does not work, and they have NOT been attempting to improve anything - for years the product has not worked. Save yourself the time and frustration, don't let your bottles wait - please buy something else!

I had a Houdini Lever corkskew remover for several years and I noticed it had developed a crack. Since I use it quite often, I needed a replacement. The Vinabon Wine opener is what I chose. I used it for the first time and it worked wonderfully. I was able to remove the cork with minimal effort. I like the design and I am hoping I will get many years of use.

This is a great value!! Wine opener is well made! Packaging is beautiful! Would be a great gift! The customer service was amazing!The small aerator was cracked and when I reached out to this company I received a reply and a replacement within 24 hours!Highly recommend!!!

I can say that I have opened MANY vine bottles in my life, with many different openers, and I am definitely competent to say - this one is TOP!

I recently bought a lesser opener. I was assured this lesser opener was all the rave but, in no time, it proved otherwise. This opener, however, is strong, well built and has the feel of something that will last a good while. It works wonderfully!

The corkscrew (the real reason for buying this) seems well made. Coming nicely packaged it’s an ideal gift. The foil cutter and aerator are a little lightweight but they function just fine, and for the price, you really can’t expect more. Overall a good value, and shipping was fast.

I bought two of these kits because they contain everything that you need for the wine consumption; a great corkscrew, EZ capsule opener, and of course a red wine aerator to make the aroma and full taste of your reds come through.
