It has clear highs but fails at the lows.
Good: + The highs ~ Okay midsBad: - Fails at lows -- Horrible build~First month: The drivers kept falling off.[My Solution] I wrapped tape around the drivers and the connection point.[My Rating] 5/5 -1 star4/5~Second month: Proprietary cable shorts out completely.[My Solution] I had to make a new one [I could not find the cable sold seperately] with wire from an RJ45 cable, four paper clips, and micro rubber bands [I wish I were joking, I'll take pictures of this mess if requested].[My Rating] 4/5 -3 stars1/5~Third month: Right driver craps out due to faulty INTERNAL connection.[My Solution] I had to open it, re-solder, apply adhesive and reseal it.[My Rating] 1/5 -∞-∞/5I kept these headphone for the wrong reasons; I kept them because I love extremely small projects (all the patch jobs), but these are rubbish. Nothing should be this pron to fail.

Great sound quality while they last
I've owned these for several months now and I'm thrilled with them with the exception of one flaw. The sound quality is great (the treble isn't overwhelming and the bass is nice and boomy without being inaccurate), they're very comfortable, they come with loads of tips, and they were pretty cheap (I got them for $40 on eBay.) However, the drivers are attached very loosely to the cable. They came off easily at first and only got worse over time. Eventually, this was so frustrating that I used a small amount of scotch tape to keep them secured. It's not ideal but it works fine now and I'm very happy with them.UPDATE: The problem has consistently gotten worse. It seems they are now so loose that even with tape holding together, they short constantly in one ear. Unacceptable.

Flawed/Defect
I received a flawed cable where on of the prongs (2) was too short and thus did not fit snuggly with the driver. Poor QA on Vsonic's part, but for the price great SQ.

Do it all, at a great price
Pros: Deep insertion, incredible isolation, very detailed, balanced sound, doesn't lack in any part of the spectrum, clean sounding, detachable cableCons: Deep insertion (uncomfortable for some), high microphonics if worn cable-downHow can I start this review.. There are so many incredible things that I can say about the VSonic VC02. So, so many.I came across the VC02 thread one day, and I felt compelled to buy a pair within minutes of reading. From what others were saying, it seemed the VC02 was outstanding. When my VC02 arrived, I was extremely excited. Never had I been so excited about a pair of headphones before. The box was similar to other VSonic boxes- it showcased the VC02 and its very large selection of colorful hybrid tips. When I opened the box, I was graced with the sweet smell of a new electronic that I was so familiar with. I was elated.I took the VC02 out of its cavity in the foam and reveled in its grace.Inside the box, behind the foam presentation, was a small baggie of even more tips, but these were silicone tips, and not hybrid tips. There were a total of 11 pairs of tips in the included package, and being the tip-hoarder that I am, I was in heaven.Inside was also a soft pouch and a shirt clip for the VC02.I, personally, would have preferred a clamshell case, but the pouch works just as well. The VC02 is a deep insertion IEM, which some may find uncomfortable, but I like deep insertion more than shallow insertion for both isolation and comfort.I plugged them into my device, and was given an experience that I could only explain as pure bliss. I knew then, that these would be my new favorite IEMs.As for how I can describe the sound..Highs - My favorite part of these IEMs. The highs are well-extended, detailed, sparkly, and non-fatiguing. These made DnB sound incredible. Snares and cymbals were reproduced with high amounts of clarity and detail.Mids - I was really impressed here as well. The mids are very clean and neutral sounding. I wouldn't call them cold, but I wouldn't call them warm. Neutral is a perfect word for it.Lows - Perfectly balanced into the rest of the spectrum. These may be neutral, but they extend into the low-end very well. Lows are controlled so well with the VC02. No bleed whatsoever, and no overpowering. Obviously, for a neutral IEM, the lows aren't too prevalent, but they can be toned up somewhat with an EQ if needed, but not too much, since these use a 3mm micro-driver.Overall - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these for a second. These fit me so perfectly. For $41, these are just incredible. Neutral, clean IEMs with intense isolation capabilities and detachable cables. What else could one ask for at this price?

Clean is not enought
the sound is brilliant and crystalline but the bass doesn't exist...so if you like to ear the bass sound I don't recommend the purchase

I briefly had some Klipshe X10 and they were amazing for 6 mos then one side just quit working
I wear these on my motorcycle and have no issues pulling my helmet on over them. I wore er6i for years before they finally started failing on me. That began my search for a suitable replacement. I briefly had some Klipshe X10 and they were amazing for 6 mos then one side just quit working. I found these while searching for a small deep insertion IEM and for the price it was not much of a risk to try so I ordered them. I immediately had one come off the cord deep inside my ear and had the retrieve it with needle nose pliers. One drop of superglue on each side and I was back in business. I really didn't buy them for the detachable cord. They come with a lot of tips but I hate latex tips so I put some Shure Olive tips on and have been extremely happy with them. The shure olive tips last forever btw. I have worn these VC02 for 1000s of miles with no issues. I rode a several trips from 7 to 11 hours straight and my ears started getting a little tender toward the end but other than long stretches all at once they have never been uncomfortable. I should also mention I have smallish ear canals. The sound quality IMO is definitely better than the ER6i. I ran the er6i for years and they sounded decent but sort of tinny with very little bass. These are very balanced though not nearly as full and warm sounding as the X10. They are not as loud as the other buds I have tried for whatever reason so you will need to turn the volume up a notch or two higher than you do normally. All in all I recommend them. Next time around I might spring for the VC1000 though since they are supposed to sound a little better.
