Not a comic book, but a good illustrated memory-aid
I have no idea why this is called a comic book, but whoever labeled it so evidently doesn't know what a comic book IS. However, it's a very handy illustrated guide full of mnemonic devices to help with the countless facts that medical professionals to be need to memorize to become practicing medical professionals. Some of them are more memorable than others, but to be honest what works for you works for you - and not always because it's perfect. Due to the phrase, "You will be embarrassed if you spell embarrass with too few r's and s's" I will never misspell embarrassed - because I have never, ever forgotten that incredibly lame mnemonic device. (Seriously. It is so dumb. And so effective for me.)Herein we read that "When a muscular African American on steroids wears a HANES tank top in Northern Europe, young women CALL him CUTE" to help us remember key features of Sarcoidosis - mostly strikes African Americans, Northern Europeans, and young women. HANES, CALL and CUTE track to some key initials. Steroids are treatment of choice."Rather than take steroids, Guillain went to camp where he learned to SAW trees and eat lots of protein BARRS" similarly contains some key information about Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Will it help you? Depends on how you're wired mostly likely, but if nothing else there's some very handy review material here on a wide variety of conditions and facts that need to be learned. As for me, I have remember how not to misspell embarrass for 40 years now. I think that one's ground in good.

Actually HAS ERRORS
I tried emailing the author but no surprise, NO RESPONSE.LOVE teh format, the bright colors and the quality of the construction, but errors in content are BAD. This isn't even the first version --- who was the editor??Granted, the god-awful pance prep pealrs, hilariously by the same author, is completely illegible due to its horrible formatting. So, if you had to choose between the two (I have both), I'd still get this, because PPP hurts my eyes and sits on a shelf, while this one I actually want to use for studying.

A must for nursing school - it helps me.
This is probably the most useful book I now own. I am in. Nursing school; going on my second semester, accelerated. This is helping me a ton with pathology and pharmacology too. It actually makes me memorize and understand so much better. I am totally going to use these mnemonics for my NCLEX exam as well. Great illustrations. And they pick every subject or term that is actually needed and necessary for you to know. Recommended!

I have used many study alternatives for the Kaplan test and this one is quite good actually. It focus on the main aspects of the test. The book is not only for this specific test, but also for continuing studies specially nursing. The book itself has good quality and will definitely last a very long time. I know I will use it and it will still in good shape to help other friends by giving it asa gift.

I like it, but it isn't a comic book
Okay, this will be a great add-on book for PA students or even PAs who read up on medical conditions to keep themselves in the know. BUT it isn't a comic book. That shouldn't be in the description. There are comic drawings to help you remember (that is what mnemonic means) and there are little cute sayings to help you remember condition descriptions and even diagnoses. But don't expect a full-blown comic book. I did....I guess I am silly. This can't take the place of any other text books you have BUT it will be a great supplement. The author even says something like this. It is worth your money and your time.
