KastKing Sharky Baitfeeder III Spinning Fishing Reel, FREE Spare Spool, Front and Rear Drag Fishing Reel for Carp Pike Coarse Fishing

Unfortunately the KastKing web-page isn't as clear as it could be when describing the different types and sizes of Sharky reels that are being offered but I knew I wanted a large strong reel for sea beach fishing so I selected the largest, most expensive baitfeeder reel at the point of order and that's exactly what arrived. I was looking for a reel for my second beach casting rod and was hoping to get all the features of my other reel, a top of the range Shimano bait-runner, but for a lot less money. I've now used my new Sharky reel in heavy seas about 15 times and I've tested it's power by "craning" ashore far too many massive balls of seaweed through strongly pulling tides :-( and I've also landed a few nice cod too :-) so I'm now happy to recommend this reel to other potential buyers. It looks great, performs great, it's strong throughout and it's excellent value for money. The rear adjustment on the baitfeeder line tension system and line tension release on the spool itself are both easy to adjust throughout the range and perform smoothly...and there's even a spare spool, which I didn't get with my Shimano. Incidentally, I've loaded both of my reels with KastKing 50lbs braid and this line is also performing excellently.

I'm updating this review to 5 Star after re-ordering another reel which has fullilled my expectations of it being a hgh quality product.. Part of my original review and thought process at that time, was that the overall qualty and finish of this reel, had been let down by a faulty component affecting the drag mechanism. Now I have a great reel that boasts any easy to set baitrunner that combines with the sensitive, front and rear drag and a silky smooth wind mechanism that just adds all together to help make fishing easy and fun. Mine's now loaded with line and I'm off to the river - Tight Lines. THIS WAS MY FIRST REVIEW WHICH HAS BEEN READ - After reading the reviews I was dissapointed to have been sent a faulty reel. The The spool was a nightmare to remove and replace and it took me15 minutes to align the slotted discs in the spool head so that it could be slid back onto the spools' spindle and it was, even then, a really tight fit. The rear drag simply clicked left then right and appeared to have no effect on the front drag adjustment at all. I was otherwise very pleased with the overall finish and looks but have been forced to request a refund. Didn't Amazon used to exchange faulty goods? I might be tempted to reorder!

I am a novice fisherman, but I can recognise good design and quality engineering, which is certainly the case with this reel. It is incredibly good value for money. I did not want to invest much as I am just taking up the sport. Delighted with the purchase and eager to receive the telescopic rod from the same manufacturer but different supplier. This supplier 'Eposeiden' met all of the promises it made about delivery etc

Great reel, nice and smooth. Have taken it out to sea and reeled in some medium sized rays. A few issues though; it does flex a bit under pressute, the plastic parts let it down a bit and the paint job has already started flaking off. For the price you won't get a better reel, I have used it a fair bit and is still as smooth as it was when I bought it. Being used for only salt water I will give it the test of time and will update this review and let you all know how it withstands the abuse I am going to put it through.

My partner wanted a fishing reel for his birthday so I thought I'd surprise him and bought this one. When it came he loved it, unfortunately it wasn't big enough for what he wanted (so much for his surprise). This is the only reason I returned. It was collected free of charge the next day by day courier and the money returned to my account the following day. I will certainly use them again, free postage/collection no questions asked.

Bought this as my Grauvell Zeus Z5000 started failing on me, I wanted a slightly smaller reel than the Zeus so I decided on this because off previous reviews. I was a bit worried about what the quality would be like because off the price but this kastking is as good as it better than any other reel I have bought, well designed and made, extremely smooth casting. Money well spent

Brilliant little reel for this kind of money. I use for my method feeder rod and it matches perfectly. light, great build quality, smooth, powerful front drag and bait runner works fine too, spare spool is a bonus. Jim
