Barrister and Mann Seville Shaving Soap and After Shave (2 Piece Bundle)

The quality of the shave soap is great as is the quality of the aftershave. However, the scent is a little more old fashioned than I was hoping for. I don't exactly hate the scent but my wife is definitely not a fan. The scent kind of reminds me of some Avon cologne my great grandpa used to wear when I was a kid. I plan on toughing it out until I use up all the product but if I reorder this brand I will definitely order a different scent next time.

Nice smelling but not long lasting

B&M has fantastic products all around and this soap lathers like a dream. Great scent and lasts awhile. One of my go to soaps.

Great scent, great lather, smooth shave!

This is B+M’s top seller and it’s easy to see why. The soap lathers easily even in hard water, and with a little working of the brush and slowly adding water as lather builds, you get a slick and protective lather that holds a lot of water—the secret to a slick shave.Will Carius, the creator of B+M, is kind of a scent savant, a talented young perfumer who has created a broad palette of scents from the safe and satisfying Seville to powerful and daring foguéres and evocative specialty scents that smell like Dracula’s cologne, gravel after a light rain or an afternoon at the ballpark.His mainstream staples are topped by Seville, which is the most mainstream of all. It has very broad appeal and smells especially good a couple hours after using.I also enjoy his Cheshire, which is a very believable Earl Grey tea scent; Fougére Gothique, which is powerful and dark and may be Will’s masterpiece; Nordost, a grilled orange scent that is just beautiful; Leviathan, a great wake up scent with some coffee in there; Reserve Spice, Will’s version of the defunct Shulton original Old Spice; Vespers, the smell of Christmas celebration; and others.Seville is my go-to in that group. This is the second B&M soap and matching splash that I purchased. I bought this after the amazing experience I had with the Reserve Lavender (which I still need to do a 5 star review). I was not sure what to expect with the scent, and was pleasantly surprised. A complex scent of citrus, lavender, and an almost spicy (but not spicy) aroma is soothing but slightly envigorating, to get you ready for the day (or night). The soap produced a quality lather with my synthetic brush, and there was excellent glide and cushion. It allowed me to get an extremely close shave with minimal irritation (no irritation when I quit while I'm ahead). I will sometimes overshave trying achieve BBS everywhere, including my neck, and Seville gives me the added insurance against razor burn. BBS lasts much longer than other soaps, and stubble is shorter at the same intervals. Since I tend to overshave, I've used non-alcoholic balms for better soothing and moisturizing, so splashes with alcohol are new to me. Wow! The post shave feel after the splash is incredible, with no drying effect! Skin is soft and supple, and the scent matches the soap.
