We have had this detector for about 6 months. In the last few weeks, it has gone off several times. Since we didn't smell gas, we assumed it was faulty or figured it was picking up gas from other, harmless sources like wine or the garbage disposal. Well, today when it went off something said call the gas company just to be sure. At first the tech couldn't find anything but he ultimately pulled out our stove, and low and behold he was able to detect a very small leak, like 3.25% LEL. He and I both almost wrote this detector off as faulty, but it did its job!!!

I bought this for my 78-year-old mom because she had a couple of incidents not completely turning off her gas stovetop. Many people don't realize how much your sense of smell declines with age. Well, it happened again, and luckily this sensor alarm went off and alerted her before it was too late. When I entered the house a couple hours later (she had not told me about the incident) I could still smell a very strong odor of gas, but luckily she had turned it off and opened a window. From the strong odor, I wish the detector was more sensitive and the alarm had gone off sooner since it was placed very close to the stove, but at least it sounded (and loudly). A natural gas alarm is essential for anyone with a gas stove, as well as a carbon monoxide detector for those with gas heat which can pose an odorless danger. Learn the differences in the types of gas detectors and don't delay making your loved ones safe at home.

I have gas heat so I installed in furnace room 14 months ago. Unit started to beep and state light blinked. I moved to another room and after a few minutes it continued to beep and an E appeared on display. No indication of E in manual. Unit discarded.

Ordered two of these back in December. Super simple to install - plug it into the wall a certain amount of feet away from any gas appliances and done! It’s been plugged in and reading “0” all these months and then about an hour ago it started beeping and flashing “4” I called our gas company and they came out. They found a loose coupling on our propane furnace that was leaking a small enough amount of gas that none of us could smell it but the detector was able to pick it up on the floor above the furnace. The technician said, “that’s one heck of a detector to pick up that small leak!”In conclusion; this is now the best $25 I ever spent on Amazon!

This was for our kitchen and the monitor seemed to work fine for about 3 months and then started sounding an alarm continuously. No gas on, not cooking, windows open (on these fine early autumn days). Our Nest alarms in bedrooms and family rooms were not indicating anything nor was our dedicated carbon monoxide detector in the center of the home. It just started the very loud alarm. I unplugged and let it reset after a few minutes and it started again. At this point just plugging it in sets off the alarm (even on one of our backyard outlets)! There is no warranty (my failure in not looking for one in the first place) but you would think it would for more than 3 months. This is a PIECE of JUNK. Do not buy! Buyer BEWARE!

This product works well....maybe a little too well. I was awoke in the middle of the night to it going off. Panicked, I open the door, only to realize my dog was sitting next to it.. farting. It was up until that moment that I knew farts could set a gas detector off.
