5 stars - Essential BEACH Shade!
This is an overall great shade!Light weight. Easy to assemble/disassemble. Well worth it. While the set up only requires one person, it can be stretched much tighter if two of you maximize the resistance for higher wind applications. We dig ~ 1 sq ft hole then fill the sand bags inside the hole. This also adds strength & tension in high beach winds. Additionally, I cut holes in two tennis balls to reinforce the tops of the two poles that make contact with the tent fabric. The ongoing winds & continued abrasion from the poles & fabric has not been an issue yet and this is the second summer using this product! It is vibrant in color although the pattern I received is not the same as the picture listed. I still appreciate the vibrant colors and enjoy the shade with the colors on the inside of the shaded space instead of the roof side. So, I set it up with the pattern side down. (If you choose a solid color instead of a pattern, then whatever side is up or down is irrelevant. LOL) I doubt you will go back to beach umbrellas and 10x10 tailgate tents after you get spoiled to this shade. It is an essential piece of beach gear.Savannah, GATybee beach - Jenn

Company stands behind their product and the canopy is awesome!
The large canopy comes with the longer 7.4 foot poles and the small and medium canopy comes with short like 5.6 foot poles. Be aware of that since the ad was misleading. The company resolved the issue promptly after I thought I was getting a canopy with 7.4 foot poles and I had ordered the medium. I did not. They corrected the issue and hopefully have corrected the ad now.The canopy is well designed and seems to hold up under normal wind. We didn’t even fill the bags to the brim since it was light wind and it held up great! Everyone at the beach came up and wanted to know where we got the canopy and how we liked it. We stayed at the beach 3 hours and didn’t get burned so that’s a plus! The medium canopy holds a out 3-4 people comfortably but we did squeeze 5 under it since a few were kids. It was super easy to put up and take down. I would def recommend it!Thank you to the company who made my purchase right and went above and beyond to ensure I had what I intended on purchasing for my upcoming event!

Sets up fast, stands up to stiff breeze. Stitching on bag is failing after a few uses.
Quality of materials is good, but the stitching on the carry bag is suspect, more on that later. With two people the canopy sets up in probably about 5 minutes, take down takes a few minutes longer, but still pretty quick. We've had it out on some breezy days and it performed well. Just make sure to face the opening (pole side) towards the wind and angle the poles into the wind. It also helps dig a small depression for the sand bags to help keep them anchored. I added some bungee keepers that might be helping with the stronger gusts, take a look at the photos. I use the same bungees to secure the poles before going into their individual bags. I also made a couple of longer loops to bundle the whole canopy before stuffing it in the bag (the canopy comes with some cheap ribbon that I would think nearly impossible to keep using for this task). The one big downside is that the cords on the carry bag were not stitched correctly and it's already coming apart at the seams (literally) this is after just 3 or 4 uses! I dropped a star for that.

Wind vs Shade: The Constant Beach Dilemma
I had skin cancer in my mid 30s so I don't mess around w the sun. I live near the beach and my kids love it so I have tried many beach shades from regular umbrellas, sportsbrellas, tents ect. I decided to give this a go this year. Takes a minute to figure out how to set it up (stretching the sand bag taut is key). On the regular days it was great shade, easy to transport and break down. The beach can be very windy and if your in a storm nothing could (or should) stay up. Take a look at my pictures and you an see what a beating the wind is giving the fabric. If it is that solid windnd you want shade, this can work. Get a shovel (toy is less ideal than real kids shovel) dig a solid hole drop filled sacks of sand and bury. The shad will shake and shimmy but not fall down. You will need to adjust poles occasionally (1-3 times an hour) and make sure the tent is facing the direction of the wind and you should be fine. We sat under our heavyly blown tent for almost 2 hours adjusted the poles a bit but for the most part relaxed in the shade. No one else on the beach even dared set up a shade

Better off with a regular old beach umbrella
I really wanted to love this product. We were looking for a lightweight, easy to assemble, beach shade. This one looked to have all the features, including its ability to hold up in strong winds. Unfortunately, it is a pain to set up and the corners and strings ripped after only two uses. It was a pricey purchase for something we can no longer use. Ended up going with a regular old $30 beach umbrella.

Not good if breezy
Cool ideal. Easy set up. Great that it all folds up and fits in small bag. But definitely not for the wind blows right over. And normally fairly windy by beach. 🤷♂️

Best Sun Shade I have found!
My wife is a sun bunny and I get drug to the beach on many occasions! While not a fan on the sun I do enjoy the outdoors and of course the beach has a calming effect on most. This Sun Shade works the best I have used! You can move one pole to the opposite corner and have shade as the sun crosses the sky. It's perfect in a strong breeze where the pop-up types break due to their metal frames. I also bought an extra set of poles so when the air is calm I can put a pole on each corner and have the max shade available. Great item, packs very small. Buy a child's plastic shovel from one of the box stores for a dollar to fill the "bags" and your set. Takes 5 minutes to set up by one person. Highly recommended and an outstanding company to deal with... while there is just the two of us and occasional guest I did get the family size because you can never have to much shade! Steve
